August came with me to Kiki the next time. She was still the same. After a while I pulled the paper out of my pocket.
"What's that?" August asked.
"It's a note for Kiki from a June Cantwell," I began before August cut me off.
"June Cantwell? But that's impossible," he muttered.
"What?"
"Oh nothing, continue."
"So it has her address and email. I'm assuming she might have answers to why Kiki is in a coma," I said.
"Can I see the paper?"
"Of course."
I handed him the paper. He read it and he began to tremble. The paper fell from his hands and I saw his face go pale.
"August what's up?"
He didn't answer.
"Do you know who June Cantwell is?" I asked.
He nodded.
"Who is she?"
Tears began to fall from his eyes.
"My mother," he said.
"Your mother?" I gasped because August's mother was supposed to be dead.
"Yeah, I was told that she died when I was twelve," he said.
"Are you sure it's her?"
"I don't know but that is her name and Auggie was her pet name for me," he said, picking up the paper and showing me her email address. Junecantwellauggie@gmail.com , it was in her email address.
"Do you think she really is alive?" He whispered.
"I'll help you find her," I said, firmly placing my hand on his.
"Really?"
"Of course, whatever it takes."
"Thank you July."
"Anything for you."
He smiled at me gratefully.
"Your the best girlfriend ever."
"I know."
He playfully punched me while I just laughed, kissing him on the cheek.
