When I came home, Calum and I set off for the hospital. He wanted to say goodbye to Kiki before he left later on.
We walked into her room. It was white with a big window and a yellow curtain. Kiki lay on the bed looking as pale and thin as ever. I sat on the window sill while Calum sat down on the green chair next to the bed and took her ice cold hand. He whispered things into her ear. I just watched the two of them and tried as hard as I could to stop any tears falling.
An hour later Calum sighed and said it was time to get back home. I nodded and he said one last goodbye to Kiki. He kissed her and took my hand walking out.
When we got home Calum went straight upstairs to finish packing. I crept into his room and he smiled when he saw me.
"Hey July, I was just gonna Skype Anna, you wanna say hello?"
"Yeah sure," I smiled.Calum got his laptop out. He turned it on and phoned Annabelle. She answered immediately.
"Hello Cal, hello July," she beamed.
"Hey Anna."
"Hi Annabelle."
"Just calling to make sure everything's going okay?" Calum smiled.
"Yeah, I'm just leaving Mom and Dad now and I'll pick you up at the airport later on."
"That's great."
"No issues?"
"None," she smiled.
"Perfect."I left them finish their conversation in peace and trekked off to my bedroom.
