The next day I went out on a walk by myself. I walked down by the river. Kiki had always wanted to have a picnic there. It made me sad thinking about her but I hadn't lost all hope that she was gone forever.

The river sparkled in the sunshine. The sky was clear and beautiful. The birds chirped happily. I should have been happy too but I wasn't.

I walked on and eventually took a break on an old wooden bench. Flowers crept up the side of the bench. I was never one for taking photos but I knew it would have been an absolutely beautiful photograph.

I sighed and looked up at the sky. It was such a gorgeous blue. I then looked down at the ground. Flowers dotted the grass unevenly. It was very pretty indeed. I smiled and them frowned when I saw something familiar on the ground near an overgrown bush.

I took a closer look and gasped at what I saw. It was Kiki's favourite hair clip. The beautiful flower one that I gave her for Christmas. I knew that was impossible but the clip had the biro markings all over the flower from when Carmel had got ahold of it. I remembered how upset Kiki had been. She told me the process she had gone through to try and clean it. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't get the blue biro scribbles removed. I remember taking out a green pen and adding more scribbles at the base of the flower. It told her it was the grass and the blue markings were the sky. I told her that it was really special now because no one would have the same clip. I then kissed it and placed it in her hair. She smiled and gave me a hug. She was definitely satisfied with that fixture.

I picked up the flower clip. I knew it was Kiki's, but how? I was about to walk away when I saw a finger poking out of the bush. I gasped and let out a silent scream. Then I took a deep breath and slowly parted the bushes to reveal something that made me scream for real.
