Coffee

The next day I went and had a coffee in Starbucks with Roxanne. She was ranting about August.

"Okay so here's what happened." Roxanne began.
"He stared by trying to blow me off and he gave no sympathy over my favourite salon shutting down! Can you believe anybody to be that rude?" Roxanne cried.
She went into detail on her side of the story and I tried not to zone out. I didn't want to upset her but I had other things on my mind!

After Roxanne was finished Cali walked in. She shot me a dirty look.
"Roxanne! You invited me not her!"
"Her has a name!" I shot straight at her.
Cali growled.
"Oh Cali! I changed my mind later and wanted to hang out with July instead and I forgot to tell you. Sorry not sorry!" Roxanne laughed, batting her eyelashes.
I could not believe she said that!
"Roxanne! You bitch!"
Roxanne just laughed even louder.
Cali walked over to the far table and gave me an even dirtier look.

Ten minutes later a girl walked in and over to Cali. She had a blonde pixie cut and icy blue eyes. I saw Cali pointing at me while talking to her.
"Roxanne who's that?" I asked.
"Who?"
"The girl with Cali." Roxanne looked back.
"Oh that's probably that Carmen Cali keeps going on about. She moved here two weeks ago and lives next door to her I think." She sighed.
"She's not in our school right?" I asked, hopefully.
"She hasn't stared a school yet. The enrolment was slow so she didn't find out what school she got into until last Friday. She'll start her new school on Monday."
"What school?"
"Jeez July! I'm not a stalker! I haven't asked Cali. I last talked to her properly on Tuesday. So I haven't a clue." Roxanne said.

I slurped the last drop of my coffee.
"Jeez! July that's not lady like!" Roxanne complained.
"Sorry." I said going red.
Roxanne laughed.
I checked the time on my phone and sighed.
"It's three o'clock. Do you want to stay, go shopping or what?" I asked.
"Come on we'll order more coffee and stay for a bit." She smiled.
"Okay."
"I'll order. What do you want?" Roxanne asked.
"A latte please."
"Okay."

I texted Shelby and Aliona while I waited for Roxanne. They were my best friends in America. I was desperately trying to stay in touch with them. While I was texting I heard snickers behind me. I sent the texts and looked behind me to see Cali and Carmen.
"What do you want?" I asked sweetly.
"Ooh nothing sweetheart." Cali's replied sweeter.
I opened my mouth to speak again but Cali and Carmen lifted up their milkshakes and then before I could utter a word they poured the contents over my head.

It wreaked my outfit that May had bought me for Christmas last year and tears fell down my cheeks. I looked down and saw my phone soaked with gooey, chocolate milkshake and I cried even more. My beautiful phone that I had saved up for for over a year was ruined.
"Why would you do that?" I whispered, sniffing.
"Ooh Baby's crying." Laughed Carmen.
I just stared at her with tears streaming my face.

Roxanne stayed up at the counter and didn't look back. I just gazed at Cali and Carmen while streams of tears fell from my eyes.
"WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS?" I repeated.
"WHY WOULDN'T I DO THIS?" Cali shot back.
"YOU'RE JUST A COMPLETE BITCH AND LUNATIC!" Carmen roared.
"YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW ME!" I roared back.
"WANNA BET?"
"Huh?"
"YOU HEARD ME!"
I just stared at her blankly.
"You're July Summers. You are an almighty bitch who stole Cali's best friend. You screamed at Summer for no reason, you don't care about anyone else you cunt!"
She kept swearing at me and then she smirked and said
"MAY, AVALANCHE, CODE RED, RING A BELL?"
Tears streamed from my face again.
"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT TO SUMMER?" Cali cried.
"I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!" I said while I burst into floods of tears.
Then Cali's phone came out and before I could block my face from it a blinding flash lit up the room for a second and to my horror I realised a picture had been taken.

Roxanne finally came back down put I just ran out of Starbucks crying. I didn't really feel like having more coffee.

I really hate those two. Carmen becomes a really important character as the book goes on.
