Nurse Mandy managed to calm me down. When my heart beat went back to normal I looked up. Nurse Mandy had shoulder length blonde hair and olive green eyes. She was tall and thin and had plenty freckles around her nose.
Summer was in the corner on a chair. She looked pale and worried.
"Let's see July Summer, what seems to be the matter?"
"Huh?"
"Well why did you have a panic attack I want to hear it from you,"
She smiled. "Um..." I blushed red.
"I need you to tell me the absolute truth honey. I've already heard the story from Summer Long, but I need I hear it from you," She said.
I sighed.
"Well, Summer said she wanted to talk to me, so we went outside. She apologised for not helping me through a tough time. She then....um..."
"Absolute truth July,"
"And I started yelling that I didn't care.....that I didn't care about the things going wrong right now. And I freaked out," I said as tears began to spill out of my eyes.
"Oh sweetie," Nurse Mandy cried.I hated pity. It's the one thing that I don't like getting from adults. Memories flooded back in and I had another panic attack. Nurse Mandy looked slightly alarmed and that freaked me out. Summer looked much worse though. She went even paler and looked incredibly worried.
"Look July, breathe, close your eyes and think of something that calms you," Nurse Mandy said with her hands placed firmly on my shoulders.
I closed my eyes and thought about the ocean. That was one thing May and I loved. The ocean. It calmed us. And we just loved it. The way it sparkled in the sunlight, the way the waves crashed in on the sand, the way it was unpredictable and had a mind of its own. My breathing slowed down and I began to relax."Now let's tackle these problems, " Nurse Mandy said.
"Summer stay here, I may need your help."
"Okay July tell me the problem."
I didn't want to explain everything to some old nurse so I just told her a lie.
"I just got a upset because I'm a little homesick. I miss my family in England. But I'm going to tell my parents tonight and sort a trip there," I smiled.
"That's great July," She smiled.
Summer looked doubtful.
"Is that it?"
"Yes Nurse Mandy, plus I was up until four reading so I'm a little tired as well," I yawned.
"A little tired?! I'd say you're a lot tired! I'm going to send you home for some rest, you stay here Summer while I ring her parents," And off Nurse Mandy went.
