Amelia kept getting worse. I began to grow worried. Although I was never to fond of her I still wanted her to be okay. I started visiting her regularly after I saw Kiki.
The doctors were starting to say that she didn't have a lot of time left. That worried us all but I tried not to think about it. The other bad news was that Annabelle's parents were not taking the news of her boyfriend very well. They refused to let her go but they knew that they had no say in her decision.
So Calum was a wreck and I was guessing that Annabelle was as well. And Kiki was showing no signs of waking up.
Mom came home on Tuesday night. She said she was fed up with sleeping in the hospital.
At two o'clock in the morning I heard a crash downstairs. I fished my slippers out because the floor was cold and raced downstairs. I found Mom picking up pieces of glass in the living room.
"Mom what happened?" I asked, flicking on the light.
She was fully dressed in a pair of jeans, a white, lacy top and a black jacket. She wore some black boots as well and her auburn hair tied back into a ponytail.
"I hit the table and knocked this glass. It unfortunately landed on this book and not the rug," she sighed.
I knelt down and helped her tidy up the glass.
"Thanks July,"
"No problem...but Mom, um...where exactly are you going?"
"Amelia got really ill...and...and...they're not sure if she'll make it through the night," Mom sniffed.
I gave her a hug and told her to give Amelia a kiss from me. Then she raced out the door, locking it behind her.
