Calum came to the hospital in less than ten minutes. Annabelle came with him.
"Calum, Mom and Dad are here."
"I don't care," he said, firmly.
"They're going to find out about me anyways," she sighed.
"It will be fine," I assured her.I was questioned by a doctor about twenty minutes later.
"Hello, I'm Doctor Nolan," he greeted.
He wore a white jacket and a stethoscope. He had sandy, blonde hair and icy, blue eyes but his smile was very friendly.
"And this is Aria Campbell, my assistant," he said, pointing to a pretty, young woman in a nurse's outfit. She had pretty, green eyes and long, black hair swept away from her face. She smiled at me, showing her sparkling, white teeth.
"Hello," I smiled.
"And you are?" Doctor Nolan asked.
"July Summer," I replied.
"I love your accent, it's not American is it?"
"No, it's British," I said.
"Oh cool, so, down to business, this girl, Kiki Summer is your eight year old sister, correct?"
"Yes."
"And she went missing how long ago?"
"Friday, two weeks ago."
"Okay, and what happened that day in your own words?"
"Well she was going to be starring in her school play, The Little Mermaid but she could only get two tickets. She gave to Mom and Dad and they promised her that they would go. I was at home and at ten o'clock I went with my brother, Calum to the school as it was way past the show. They told us that Kiki was expelled and kicked us out. We searched for half an hour and then went to the police. Or do you call it cops here? Anyways I searched until one o'clock and then went home. My brother stayed out until three," I said.
"And what happened the days after? Including today."
"Well the next day my brother, my boyfriend and I went out to look for Kiki and check in with the police. My brother's girlfriend stayed behind incase Kiki came home, We found out that Kiki had caused a huge commotion during the show and had ruined the set. She was expelled and apparently ran off."
"Okay, keep going."
"So it was pretty much the same on Sunday and that night I only got an hour and a half of sleep. No one would let me go out looking again so my boyfriend stayed off school and stayed at home with me while my brother and his girlfriend went out looking. We decided after that to leave it to the police. My boyfriend and I took the whole week off school. The next week I stayed off school but my boyfriend went back and this morning I decided to go for a walk. I saw Kiki's hair clip on the ground and went to pick it up. I then saw a finger poking out of the bush. I parted it and found her lying there unconscious," I said.
"Alright and what is your brother's name?"
"Calum Summer."
"And what's your boyfriend's name?"
"August Cantwell."
"And Calum's girlfriend is called?"
"Annabelle Rivers."
I saw Aria Campbell swiftly scribbling down everything in a notebook.
"Thank you July, so lastly I was wondering if I could have your parents' names?"
"Wilma and Clayton Summer," I said.
"Okay July, look we wrote all that down to help us doctors understand Kiki's disappearance but you'll probably be interviewed by some reporters in a bit for the paper or something," he said.
"Alright."
He then asked some questions like our address, Kiki's date of birth and stuff like that.An hour later I was called back in with Calum. Doctor Nolan looked at us with grieve in his eyes.
"I have news about Kiki."
"Yes?" I smiled.
He frowned.
"Um..there is an eighty percent chance that she..won't live."
I stared at him in shock. Eighty percent? Tears built up in my eyes. Calum turned pale.
"What's wrong with her?" Calum demanded.
"She's in a coma," he said.
"What?" I cried.
"We don't know how long she's been in a coma for but we think she's had an overdose of alcohol and has been in some form of accident."
"You need to have more details than that! She doesn't drink alcohol! What kind of accident could she have got into?" Calum yelled.
I placed my hand on Calum to try and calm him down. He had a fierce look in his eyes and it was scaring me.
"Look she may wake up, you just have to wait and see."
And with that he left us feeling numb with pain from the possible loss of another sister.
