23 - Sudden

"I don't like this..." Yuri muttered under his breath as he laced his skates.

"Lighten up and enjoy yourself for once~" you chimed.

He puffed his cheeks and pouted like a kid, "How could I enjoy myself if I am doing something that is completely insane?...not to mention this would get us into trouble..."

You rolled your eyes, "Quit worrying. You know we'll only get in trouble if we're caught."

"And that's what I am afraid of..."

It was 5:30 am and you managed to drag Yuri out to the rink. It was weird. Usually on Saturdays you would still be found lying on your couch, dead to the world until the smell of breakfast would rouse you out of your unconscious state.

Today you decided to wake up earlier than usual to take Yuri out to the rink...which you weren't even supposed to be in until your practice at 8:00...

He wasn't pleased when you dragged him out of bed.

Yuri ignored you and headed straight for the ice.

"H-hey wait up!" You called out, "And here I thought you were against this idea..." You grumbled as you hurriedly slipped onto your own pair of skates and laced them up.

The two of you were the only one's on the ice. The whole rink was dimly lit.

"This is stupid..."

"You thinking this is stupid is what's stupid."

"You're not making any sense!"

"No, you're the one who's not making sense."

"We're not supposed to be here...what if someone sees us here?" He asked looking around just in case someone decides to pop out, "It's not even our ice for another three hours."

"Nobody would mind. No one's even here yet."

"Are you sure?"

"Sure I'm sure," you chirped, "Never been any more surer in my life."

He gave you a look, "That's not even a word."

"It is now~"

He tried to choke back a chuckle at your dopey expression but in the end you both burst out laughing.

"But seriously," he said in between peals of laughter, "this is crazy."

You smiled, "So I've been told."

You decided to show off a bit and do a triple Lutz. Of course, you didn't stick the landing the one time you were trying to impress Yuri.

You let out an 'umpf' as your butt made contact with the slippery surface.

Yuri shook his head and slow clapped as he skated towards you, "That was graceful." He held out his hand for you to take.

You narrowed your eyes at his outstretched hand and scoffed, "Like you could do better?"

He raised a brow and withdrew his hand. He managed to execute the same jump but unlike you, he stuck the landing with much more finesse.

He approached you once more with a smirk and helped you up.

"Show off," you muttered.

"Thus the pot called the kettle black."

"You know I meant to fall..." You dusted some of the ice that got onto you, trying to save what was left of your bruised pride.
