Patience does not mean the ability to wait, but the ability to maintain a good attitude while waiting.
Screw having a good attitude.
You felt like you wanted to break something or flip a table over because of the wait. You were beginning to become restless.
There was something about waiting that irks you. Whether it is waiting in line to buy a cup of coffee, waiting for your favorite fanfictions to update a chapter or waiting for the next episode/season of your favorite show to be released, you always wished and prayed to any deity out there that was willing to lend an ear, to speed time up a notch just so that you could hurry up and move on with your life already.
Time was gold, so they have said.
You didn't like waiting long. Who did?
The longer you waited, the more anxious and fidgety you became.
You thought that Yuri would be in the same panicking state as you were but oddly enough, he seemed rather unaffected. If not, he looked more excited and determined than anything else.
Hopefully if you leant against him long enough, some of his chill would rub off on you.
You wish.
You were sitting beside Yuri who was sitting in between you and Victor, surrounded by the Katsuki family, Nishigori family, Minako and of course, the adorable Makkachin.
Victor wanted this the revealing of both yours and Yuri's assignments to be a special occasion.
Honestly, you didn't see the point of all the fanfare. Half of the people in the room probably already knew where the both of you were going to be assigned they just weren't telling you...so why bother?
It was your grumpy side talking.
Of course, you didn't want to burst Victor's happy little bubble and say that out loud.
The three of you were sitting by the kotatsu table with Yuri's lap top right in front of you.
You felt like the universe wanted to mess around with your already frazzled self and make the internet connection even slower. The page where the assignments were have yet to load.
And it was driving you insane. You wanted to pull your hair out and scream. The suspense was killing you.
Yuri, having noticed that you were pretty out of it, silently placed his hand on top of yours and gently rubbed it with his thumb.
The soothing motion calmed you down somewhat.
You sent him a grateful look to which he just smiled at you.
Your heart couldn't take much more. Both the suspense and Yuri's smile was enough to send you into cardiac arrest.
You closed your eyes tightly, trying to imagine things that makes you happy.
Food makes you happy.
Sleep makes you happy.
Video games makes you happy.
Anime makes you happy.
Books make you happy.
Being with Yuri makes you happ-
"It's here!"
You snapped out of your reverie when you had heard Yuri's voice.
The two of you clamored forward, trying to get a good look as to where the two of you were assigned.
It was finally over.
The sound of party poppers going out nearly made you jump. You guessed you were still processing the whole thing.
