It was strange how a situation could go from 'slightly amusing' to 'hilarious' and then just 'plain weird' in the span of an hour. It was even stranger for you to be one of the remaining...scratch that, you swore you were the only sane person present at the moment...then again...'sane' is a relative term (what was the world coming to?)
You sighed in exasperation.
You tried in vain to remember whether it was Victor or Celestino who ordered the liquor. It doesn't even matter that much, really seeing as both of them were pretty much wasted.
Ciao Ciao was slumped forward on the table, unconscious. He was a bit of a light weight from what you had gathered. He didn't even stand a chance. You would have been concerned at the amount of...foam that was forming from his mouth but his expression was rather funny so he had to be okay.
Phichit was still as bubbly as usual, highly amused by what is transpiring, documenting everything in his phone, snapping pictures.
Then finally, there was Victor. After a few shots (you've lost count), your coach has finally lost it. You found out that Victor was a rather touchy drunk...and the closet person to Victor was...
Why did this have to be so complicated?
You didn't particularly like the way Victor was so close to Yuri. He was practically clinging on to him, pressing himself against the dark haired skater while continuously sputtering nonsense. Yuri on the other hand was all flustered from the contact, his red face could rival that of Victor's own flushed countenance.
You weren't jealous. You weren't. You just didn't want the silverette to get in Yuri's personal space that's all...at least that was what you liked to tell yourself. It made you feel a little better about the shenanigans that was going on.
You could feel the beginnings of a headache form and you resisted the urge to throttle Victor if it weren't for accidentally hurting Yuri as well. That and you didn't want to make a scene...since Phichit also invited a couple of other skaters over.
You loved the Thai skater dearly but you really couldn't guess why he just had invited more people especially when things were starting to 'escalate'.
"H-Hey! Don't take your clothes off, Victor!" You nearly snapped at the man. Of course, your words didn't do anything to stop him.
You really wished that you had met Leo and Guang-Hong in much better circumstances. They seemed to be nice kids from what you could tell. You only hoped that they don't get the wrong idea about what was going on (you all had reputations to upkeep...well Yuri and Victor had more so than you). Had it been another time, you actually wanted to get to introduce yourselves properly (preferably at a time where Victor wasn't stripping off every article of clothing from his body).
Yuri was at a loss of what to do. His brain was losing its coherency. There was just so much going on.
"Uh...he had a bit too much to drink," Yuri explained lamely at the two younger skaters who were frozen in their place.
Yeah well there's the understatement of the century.
"Yuri," Victor whined, "Let's take a dip in the hot spring~"
It was a pity. They looked as if they were excited to meet Victor too. It was just too bad that Victor was a bit out of sorts at the moment.
You gave them both a small, apologetic smile, "I'm sorry that you guys had to see this but if I were you, I'd shield my eyes right about now." Things were looking pretty R - rated considering that Victor has taken off his pants...and his under wear (and flung it towards their direction).
Being the only sane person here was far too troublesome. You could only imagine how the coaches would fare tomorrow. It would be such a drag to have to deal with two hang overs at once.
Guang-Hong and Leo were a bit shaken after the whole experience and they certainly do not want a repeat any time soon.
Victor wrapped his arms around Yuri and their faces were so close to each other that made your blood begin to boil. You had to intervene right now. This was getting out of hand.
You swore to yourself that for as long as you guys were here, you would never allow Victor to touch alcohol ever again.
You were grateful though because after muttering strings of apologies to both Guang-Hong and Leo, you managed to separate Victor from Yuri and actually got him to put his clothes back on (which was practically a miracle in and of itself). Phichit had the responsibility of lugging Ciao Ciao back with him to the hotel while you and Yuri had to drag Victor back to your own. It was rather difficult, having to lead the drunk back to your own hotel room. He was rambling on and on about going to the hot springs.
After that whole ordeal, Yuri and Victor were out like a light. Victor was on the bed and Yuri plopped over the couch. You didn't really mind though.
You didn't go to bed just yet. You couldn't because you felt something nagging at you in the back of your mind. It wasn't like you were a stranger to sleeping late.
'Why didn't Yuri do anything?' you thought as you took the other bed. Didn't he even notice how uncomfortable you were while Victor was wrapped around him like that? (Not to mention, barely clothed!)
The competition begins tomorrow.
You weren't exactly looking forward to it as much as you thought you did. It was funny what jealousy does when it rears its big, ugly head.
You sighed and ran a hand through your tousled locks. You figured you would just change into your sleep wear and lie down a bit and hope that sleep takes you.
Just when you were about to fall asleep, your phone emitted a soft 'ping'. You rolled to your side and checked your phone, its light illuminating your face. Phichit posted a picture.
You felt your heart sink as you looked at it.
You really couldn't blame your Instagram savvy friend for posting it. He could post what he wanted to post, you reasoned with yourself.
You felt stupid though. There was really no reason for you to feel this way. You were being irrational. You shut your eyes tightly, hoping that tomorrow would come sooner so that you could forget about this awful feeling.
Your phone didn't let you though because as soon as you put it away, you received a text message from a familiar number.
"Are you ok?", you whispered to yourself. You found a small smile worm its way to your features. At least someone out there was looking out for you. It just wasn't someone that you expected.
You began to reply.
(Y/N) 11:52 PM – it's nice to know that u care o(*゚▽゚*)o
GAK (>ΦωΦ<) 11:54 PM – Whatever.
GAK (>ΦωΦ<) 11:55 PM – Don't read too much into it.
(Y/N) 11:56 PM – i know you luuuuvvv me. Admit it!!
(Y/N) 12:04 AM – hellooooo??
It wasn't that much of a surprise that he didn't reply. It's okay though. You soon fell asleep, your mood definitely lighter.
