"Who's stalking who now?"
He rolled his eyes at your remark, "Please. Don't flatter yourself, I'm not stalking you."
You scoffed, "You could have fooled me."
"What? I could not go to the same park as you do?" he challenged, "Last time I checked, this place is public property. I don't see your name written on every brick on the walkway."
You were about to open your mouth to retort but instead you sighed in defeat.
He smirked, "I thought so."
You found yourself in the same park you went to days ago. The weather was a whole lot better now in contrast to the last time you've been here. The grey clouds and the pouring rain were but a memory now that was replaced with warm, gentle rays and an endless blue sky. It was the perfect day to be outside. There were children running around the play ground, their parents were keeping a watchful eye a little ways away, you listened as you could hear their care free laughter as they played. You had decided to roam around a bit and your legs unconsciously brought you back here. It was now one of your favorite places in the whole neighborhood...
But thanks to the presence of a certain someone, you were having second thoughts about coming back here ever again. Sitting on the opposite side of the bench you were on was someone you did not think you would see a ga
"Pierce, what are you doing here?"
"It's none of your business why I'm here, (L/N)."
You groaned. And here you thought that you could enjoy a nice day to yourself, "What I meant was, why are you still here here?"
He gave you a snide look, "Now what? I can't live here too?"
You blinked, "Wait...you live here?" you gestured to the area around you, "You live in the park?"
He snorted, "How dumb can you get? I live in this area, you idiot. My mom and I moved here not long after that competition back in Detroit...I wasn't expecting to see you here though..."
Neither were you expecting to see him.
"Why did you move here? I would have thought that you would have continued skating there," you casually asked, "It even looked like you had a bit of a fan base there."
"Shows what you know," he gruffly replied, "Quit asking dumb questions."
You huffed, "Well aren't you a prickly little thing."
"Only for you because you're such an idiot."
"Jerk."
"Moron."
"Prick."
"Asshole."
You just flipped him off and he chuckled. The eighteen year old didn't look the least bit bothered by what you did. He saw it coming from a mile away. As soon as his laughter died down, it became quiet between the two of you.
It wasn't the sort of heavy silence that you dread every time words start to die out. It wasn't thick and the atmosphere wasn't uneasy. You honestly weren't expecting this. Usually by now you would be shifting uncomfortably in your seat.
You stole a glance in his direction. He was so much younger than you, only eighteen to your twenty-three. His dark hair was a mop of messy curls that framed his face. His eyes were a stormy grey, a stark contrast to that of his brother's, "What the hell are you staring at?"
You squeaked as you felt your face burn in embarrassment from being caught staring, "N-nothing!"
"Did you just squeak?"
