You were sitting cross legged on top of your bed.
You were using your laptop, video chatting with your parents who apparently weren't there with you at home.
You wondered if they were even ever going to come back.
They were a rare sight at home and even video chats were between them and you became less and less frequent.
They were probably starting to forget about you...just like Yuri will soon.
"(Y/N), how are you? Are you eating right?", Your mom asked.
'Why don't you come home and find out?' You thought bitterly, " I'm fine."
'Not.'
She beamed, "That's good to hear. How's your friend...what was his name again? The one that you keep talking about in your e-mails?"
You flushed red, leave it to your mom to say something embarrassing.
"I don't want to talk about him..."
She pouted, "But I thought that you two were-"
"Drop the damn subject, mom." You hissed.
She was taken aback by your response then sighed.
She was broaching a sensitive subject for you and you tended to be rather touchy when she asks these sort of things.
Gaining your senses back you looked away, "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to snap..."
A small smile formed on her lips, "It's alright...something must have happened between the two of you."
You didn't answer.
"Don't worry, (Y/N)," she reassured, "I won't press you for answers. You could tell me all about it when you're feeling up to it."
"Thank you..."
"But I would honestly like to hear more from you, (Y/N). Some of your e-mails seem rather vague."
You rolled your eyes. If she wanted to hear more she should just come home and hear it from you in person.
You actually hated having to video chat all the time.
"But I am sorry too..."
You scoffed, "What for?"
"Your father and I missed your graduation ceremony...We're really sorry..."
You were silent.
"It doesn't matter. It's over. There's no reason to mope about it anymore."
Her eyes shone with worry, "But (Y/N)-"
You looked around the scene behind your mother, "Where's dad?"
You changed the subject too quickly for your mothers liking.
She gave out a small, nervous laugh and it annoyed you.
You should have seen it coming.
"Oh, he went out with his coworkers. They are out drinking I bet."
"Shouldn't you be upset?"
"Upset? Your father is a grown man. He could take care of himself."
"That's not what I meant and you know it."
She sighed. She suddenly looked so worn and tired.
You shook your head, "You know what, I'm gonna turn in early. You rest too."
Before she could even respond, you have ended the video chat and closed your laptop.
It was awfully rude of you, you were aware but the conversation was starting to feel pointless.
