Chapter 12

Tamatoa's POV

Two weeks later...

 Things have been much better between Maui and I these past two weeks. We managed to get through our first bump in the road. Though, Maui and I are leaving for Montonui in a week's time. I've tried to be brave about it for his sake, but the truth is I'm absolutely terrified of going there for multiple reasons. Those reasons include but aren't limited to what people will say about us, seeing Moana, Moana's reaction to Maui and I dating (She's going to find out sooner or later), and whether or not I'll be banished from the island upon arrival. 

  Maui's currently giving me a shoulder massage because he knows how tense I am right now. It's sweet that he's trying to get me to relax, but unfortunately the massage isn't helping much right now. "Maui... I'm really nervous about heading to Montonui next week. There are like twenty different scenarios playing in my mind of how things could go wrong." Maui stops massaging my shoulders, squats down in front of me, grabs my hands, and squeezes them reassuringly, making my heart melt with love for my stubborn demigod of the wind and sea. "Tama, I can't promise that everything will be perfect, but what I can promise you is this. You will never be alone again and I will be there for you through every obstacle, even those that may arise when we reach Montonui."

   I gaze deeply into his eyes and put a hand on his cheek, caressing it gently. "Have I ever told you how much I love you Maui? I really do love you a lot." A blush creeps onto Maui's cheek and he gives me an adorable toothy smile of this that I'm so fond of. "I love you too Tama. Anyways, I have a proposition for you." I raise my eyebrow with a grin. "I'm listening Maui." He chuckles. "How about let's not worry about anything until we have to? We just simply take things one day at a time." My grin turns into a more sincere smile. "That sounds good Maui. Though I hope that you follow that motto too. You get just as easily stressed as I do. The point is I'll follow it if you do." I extend out a claw/hand for him to shake. "Do we have a deal?" He returns my sincere smile and shakes my claw/hand. "We have a deal."
