Seeing The Light
Chapter 16
Tamatoa's POV
I can tell that I've upset Maui with what I said, but I put his nerves at his ease slightly by saying that I'd give it a few days to see if the tension diminishes or not. If it does, then I'll stay. If not, I'll have to leave for a bit, with or without Maui. I'd try going to find and talk to Moana, but honestly that would do more harm than good. Even though she doesn't want to see Maui right now, she'd probably rather see his face than mine any day. After all, I've played a major role in the downfall of her life right now. I just really hope she doesn't hurt herself. Maui told me that she's quite the sensitive one...
Speaking of Maui, my poor baby is so worn out. He cried himself to sleep in my arms. When he fell asleep after many hours of crying, I gently lifted him into bed, gave him a kiss on the forehead, and went down by the shore to do some thinking. It truly is the best place to think and have some alone time. While thinking, I play with the ocean. Surprisingly, it accepts my touch just as it does Maui and Moana's. I figured it'd soak me since Moana basically controls it. You know for a mortal, she sure does have a lot of power. I'm surprised she was never made into a demigoddess. I think that despite how much she hates me, Moana deserves that title.
Moana's POV
I've been staring at the wall's of my hut for most of the day. I've been thinking carefully and I've realized something. None of us are truly going to happy unless I'm out of the picture. That's why here and now, in this moment of time, I'm going to do exactly that. With red, puffy bloodshot eyes and a broken heart, I grab a rope from the corner of my room and my desk chair. I get up on the chair, look up at ceiling, find a hook dangling from it, tie one end of the rope to the hook, and tie the other end around my neck. I then start tugging at the rope until it starts to choke me. I begin to lose blood circulation and the ability to breath. I can see myself turning people in the mirror. Eventually, my last breath escapes from me, my eyes flutter for the last time before closing completely, my body goes limp, and I see the light. Wanting to be free from my misery, I run towards it and accept death as my fate.
