Setting Sail For Home
Chapter 62
Maui's POV
The next day...
Tama and I are loading our boat with some of the rare fruit and such from the island to enjoy on the trek home and even a few days after. I'm thinking of giving a few coconuts to Mo as a gift of appreciation. As we load the last of the supplies, I feel some sadness wash over me. Tama notices and puts a hand on my shoulder. "Please remember what I said yesterday Maui, we will return again. I can't promise it'll be very soon, but it will happen." I nod and try to shake the sadness out of me, literally. With that short moment having occurred, Tama and I sail out of my island and out onto the open ocean.
Once we get away from the shore, I volunteer to sail for the first shift to help keep my focus on something else so I don't get sad and feel regret. Regret is a horrible feeling to have to deal with. I have enough of it as is so I really don't need anymore to add to my LONG list of regrets. Tama sits down beside my feet and splashes some water onto himself. Despite it only being morning, it's hot as hell right now. I'm quite tan but I can still feel a sunburn coming on. Gah. Even the immortal aren't immune to sunburns. The sun shouldn't be so hot. When I lassoed it, I never intended it to blaze as much heat down on earth as it does.
Tama must notice that I'm deep in though because he claps his claws in front of me to get my attention. I quickly snap out of my trance and look down at him. "Sorry about that Tama, I zoned out for a moment. What's up baby?" He blushes at me calling him baby. "I just wanted to make sure you're okay. You're okay right?" A genuine smile forms across my face. "I'm okay Tama, really. You sucked the little sadness that I was feeling right out of me with that wonderful spirit of yours that I adore." Tama stands up carefully and wraps his arms around me from behind. "I love you Maui, to the moon and back." I kiss his forehead tenderly. "And I love you from right here on this boat until the end of the galaxy, which I don't think there is. So in other words, my love for you goes on forever." Tama taps my nose lightly. "Well I should have said that because it's far more true than what came to my mind."
My inner romantic takes over me as my body moves closer to Tama's and seals the distance between us with a passionate kiss. I'm pretty sure we make out and/or have sex more than we actually have real conversations. Well we can't help it. Our makeout and sex sessions are just too good for their own good. Either that or we're just that damn good.
Hoped that you guys liked this chapter! I'm borrowing the wifi up at my apartment complex's clubhouse for awhile to get some updates posted for you guys. This will probably be my only one today on this fanfic but I have at least one, possibly two coming on my original. :) <3 -Mary
