Chapter 15

Moana's POV

  All three of us are an absolute mess for slightly different reasons, but they all tie into one another. I can't believe that I allowed myself to sound so jealous and petty. I was hoping that my emotions wouldn't get the best of me, but as usual they did. I think I just need to get away from Maui and Tamatoa for a bit. I wipe my stray tears away, slowly get up, and head off to my hut to have some alone time. As I head there, a few of the villagers ask me if I'm okay and I put on a fake smile to ease their concern. They're good people. I don't want them worrying about me, especially when we'e barely surviving these days. 

  Ten minutes later...

  I've arrived at my hut and immediately collapse into bed. I don't even bother to brush my teeth or change my clothes. I'm just completely and utterly drained. I close my eyes and fall into a dreamless sleep. 

Maui's POV

 Moana just left without saying a word, which broke my heart even more. I'm honestly starting to regret returning so soon. I knew Moana wasn't going to take the news of Tama and I dating well. Though of all of us, Tama is probably in the worse shape. He's been sobbing for two hours straight. I'm worried that he might not ever stop. He looks up at me with puffy, bloodshot eyes. "M-Maui, I need to talk to you about something." I rub his hair soothingly. "You can talk to me about anything my love. What's on your mind?" I notice hesitation in his eyes and demeanor. "I've been doing a lot of thinking these past couple of hours, despite being a sobbing mess, and I was wondering if maybe I should step aside for a little while."

  I tilt my head in confusion the way a lost puppy might do. "What do you mean by stepping aside?" He sighs. "I-I mean maybe I should return to Lalatoi for awhile... alone. Moana seems to need you more than I do and I don't want her to harm herself because of me." I gently cup his chin and get him to look at me. "Tama, Moana may need me, but I need you so much more. You're my love, my best friend, and my everything." I can hear my voice beginning to crack. "P-Please don't leave." Tama kisses my cheek and I close my eyes, wanting the feeling to last for as long as possible because to be honest, I'm afraid that regardless of what I say, there's a chance that Tama will leave anyway. I'll do everything in my power to make sure he stays, but there's only so much I can do...

Hoped that you guys liked this chapter! I'm amazed that I managed to do three updates in one day, though I did two of them this morning/early afternoon. This is the last one for today. Though, there should be one update on my original story in a bit. :) -Mary
