Chapter 81

Maui's POV

  I've been sitting with Tama in our hut for an hour now trying to digest the fact that we're going to be having TWINS. Well Mo is carrying them but they're going to be our children. It's hard enough to imagine me being father to one child, let alone two. While this is a blessing to Tama and I, it also gives me severe anxiety. Now there's twice the amount of pressure and twice the amount of expectations. I just hope that I'm a good father. I know Tama will be, but as you probably know, I've made far more mistakes and done darker things than he has. I know that I'm not that man anymore, but I'm scared that my children might found out about that side of me and become evil. We don't want our babies to be consumed by evil. We want them to be pure, kind souls. I think that spending a lot of time with Mo will help them stay that way. 

   "Maui", Tama says in a concerned voice, "Are you okay?" I glance at him nervously. "I'm fine. I'm just absorbing the fact that we're having twins. I honestly didn't see that coming." Tama chuckles. "Neither did I. Let's embrace it though. It's the Gods giving us a chance to be fathers to two wonderful children. We could have lived forever without either getting the chance to be fathers but we're being given two children by our best friend in the entire world. It couldn't be more perfect." I nod. "You're right." I sigh. "I'm sorry for being such a pain in the ass to deal with sometimes. I hate that I'm so insecure about myself and my abilities. I appear like I'm the most confident demigod on the face of the Earth, but I'm by far the most insecure. My parents throwing me into the sea really messed me up." 

    Tama wraps an arm around me and pulls me towards him. "Maui, don't be so hard on yourself babe. You and I are going to be great fathers. We're going to give our son and daughter all of the love that we never had. Heck they will be the two most loved children on this planet. Plus they'll be immortal so they won't ever die on us. Well as long as we limit how much combat action they have." I nuzzle him affectionately. "Oh Tama, you always know exactly what to say. I love you Crab Cakes." Tama nuzzles me back. "I love you too my precious Big Goof."
