Chapter 78

Maui's POV

The next morning... 

   I walk right into Mo's hut to find Tama and Mo asleep together wrapped up tightly in a blanket. The sight is both weird and adorable. It certainly explains why Tama didn't come home last night. My poor baby. He won't admit it but he's so tired. I'm just glad that he's safe and sound along with Mo. I sit down quietly at the foot of the bed and wait for the both of them to wake up, in which they do a few minutes later. Both of them are startled as they first open their eyes, but when they see that it's me, they begin to relax. "Hey, I'm sorry to startle you both. I was just trying to find Tama and wanted to check on you Mo as well. It's just a coincidence that you both happen to be together." Tama giggles adorably. "I'm sorry I fell asleep here last night. Mo was sad and I didn't want to leave her alone. Well that and I was too tired to leave to be honest." 

   I smile sincerely. "It's okay babe." I shift my attention onto Mo. "How are you feeling?" A small smile tugs at her lips. "Much better surprisingly. Tama makes a great pillow by the way. I can see why you enjoy sleeping with him so much Maui." A chuckle escapes from my mouth. "He sure does. I'm glad you're feeling better Mo." An awkward moment of silence passes before Mo's small smile turns into a frown and Tama suddenly becomes nervous. I look back and forth from the two of them. "There's something you two aren't telling me. Please tell me. You both know that you don't have to hide anything from me, nor will I let you. So just say whatever you have to say. I can handle it." Mo sighs, takes a deep breath, looks me right in the eyes, and says "I'm pregnant with Loi's baby." My jaw immediately hits the ground. "Y-You are?" Tama and Mo nod in unison. 

   "How far along are you Mo?" She shrugs her shoulders. "I'd say about two weeks if I had to guess. Since I'm an immortal demigoddess, my pregnancy will only last five months rather than nine, but there's something else Maui. Though the second part involves Tama so I'll let him tell/ask you." I give her a nod and look at Tama. Tama takes a step towards me. "Mo doesn't want to keep the baby. She wants to be able to see it from time to time but she doesn't want to be a mother." I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. "Tama, I don't understand. What are you trying to say?" "What I'm trying to say Maui is that you and I have been wanting to have a child and now's our chance. Mo is going to carry the baby to term and then let us adopt her baby." I look at Mo in shock. "You're really going to let us adopt your child?" Mo smiles at me. "I am. I'm not fit to be a mother. I'm too young and feel as though it's not my time to be a mother yet. I still will be apart of the baby's life. I'll be the cool aunt that babysits once a week." 

    I chuckle at her statement. "Mo, this means everything to us. Thank you." I wrap my arms around her tightly and Tama does the same, making it a warm group hug. We stay like that for several minutes before pulling apart. Tama looks at her in concern and asks the obvious question "Are you sure?" Mo looks at both him and I and says "I've never been more sure about anything in my life. You two are going to make wonderful dads. It's an honor to be able to give you the gift of parenthood." A tear slips down my cheek but I don't bother to wipe it away. I'm so just so happy that Tama and I are going to be dads to an amazing son or daughter.
