No Chance Of Coming Back
Chapter 92
Maui's POV
Time Skip... Six months later...
I have a doctor's appointment today to check on the progress of my past few months of treatment and to see where I'm at. I'm hoping that I'll get the good news that there's no chance of my tumor and cancer coming back. I know it's far fetched, but I'm clinging onto that slight ray of hope tightly. Tama and Mo are both here with me along with the kids. We wanted to find out the news, good or bad, as a family. The doctor comes in, kisses both of the kids, and hugs the three of us. I give her a signature smile. "Alright Doc, whatever the news is, lay it on me." She returns my smile with one of her own, which I take that the news is decent.
"Well Maui, I have good news for you. Your chemo treatments seem to have been successful. I'm sure you've figured that out given how well your hair is growing back." I chuckle at her. "I've missed my long locks so much. Hopefully in a few months time, they'll be back to their full glory." She laughs along with me. "I bet they will, though I have one more piece of news." I lean forward in anticipation. "Maui, neither your tumor or cancer shows any chance of coming back." I gasp. "So I'm cancer free?" She smiles sincerely at me. "You're cancer free. Congratulations!" I get out of the bed and jump into her arms, nearly crushing her with my super strength. I blush and sheepishly pull myself off of her. "Sorry Doc, I get overexcited sometimes is all. Though I want to say thank you again for everything you've done. You're exceptional." She bows her head politely. "Thank you Maui."
She steps back to give Tama, Mo, the kids, and I some space to take in the news. Tama is the first one to speak while Mo simply squeezes the hell out of me. "Baby, you're all better." I take his face and pull it to mine, crashing my lips against his. "I told you I'm not going anywhere Tama. I'm here to bug you until the end of time." Tama gives me a breathtaking smile. "Good. Anyways, our little angels want you." Taui and Tala are in a tray of sorts. Tama goes over to them, takes them out of the tray, and places them into my arms. A tear of joy slips down my cheek as they both reach for me, taking my giant fingers in theirs and kissing them. I'm so happy to be alive and cancer free. Scratch that, I'm blessed. I've never been super religious, but I'm indeed blessed. Thanks to my amazing doctor and the universe, I'll be able to raise my kids with my perfect husband and best friend. None of the misery of the last few months is looming around. It's disappeared and turned into the biggest ball of joy, placed into the palms of my hands.
