Chapter 41
Tamatoa's POV
Maui asked me to marry him... and I said YES! He finally asked me the question I've been dreaming about him asking me for months. It feels like a perfect, beautiful dream that I don't ever want to wake up from. I'm going to remember this moment until the end of time. I look back at Moana strumming her ukulele. "You were in on this Mo?" She grins and says "Yes." I go over to her and give her a hug. "Thank you." She takes me by surprise by giving me a kiss on the cheek. "You're welcome." I blush and turn my attention back to Maui, extending a hand for him to take. We tell Mo we'll see her in the morning and she nods, making her way back to her hut... or Loi's. The thought of her and Loi spending the night together causes me to smirk in her direction.
Maui and I walk along the shore in a peaceful silence for awhile, enjoying both each other's company and the conditions of the night. "Maui, that was amazing. I always knew you were a softie deep down, but I'm truly surprised at just how romantic that proposal was." That throaty chuckle of his that I love rumbles against my chest. "To be honest with you Tama, I'm also surprised that I had that much romance in my system." I chuckle back. "Maybe after our wedding, you can write a romance book. I think you'd be good at it." Maui puts a hand under my chin, making me look him in the eyes as he smirks at me adorably. "Speaking of the wedding, what do you think a good date to get married would be?"
I bite my lip in concentration, thinking about just when the perfect time to get married would be. "How about three months from today? I want this wedding to be special and not rushed in the slightest." Maui smiles and says "That sounds good to me", crashing his ever soft lips onto mine. Once again, Maui and I end up kissing under the stars. I think that's becoming our thing. Personally I wouldn't mind if it does. I find it sweet. :)
