I Need A Break Soon 

Chapter 58

Moana's POV

 Back on Montonui...

   Things have been crazy busy since Maui and Tama left for their honeymoon trip. I'm happy that they got the chance to escape and have fun, but they left me with a major work load. My parents having been helping out as much as they can, though even their help is limited. My parents aren't lazy in the slightest, it's just they're getting up in age. My mother is beginning to resemble my grandma Tala and my father has becoming slightly handicapped. My father has to often use a cane to help him walk. It both saddens me and scares me because my parents aren't immortal like Tama, Maui, and I are. They're aging and I'm going to love them eventually. The day that I lose them will be the worst day of my life besides using grandma Tala. I wish I could bring her back from the dead. She visits me a couple times a month in spirit form, but it's not the same. 

   Everyone keeps asking me when Maui and Tamatoa are due to return and the truth is I don't know. I keep telling them that but they refuse to accept my honest answer for what it is. All I know is that they won't be gone forever. They'll return sooner or later. I don't blame them for wanting to get away for their honeymoon. Loi and I get so little privacy ourselves even in our own hut. Someone's always knocking on the door at all hours of the night requesting something to be done. I'm determined to get back out on the ocean at some point and I'd love to bring Loi with me. There's nothing I want more than to sail around on the ocean for a few days, just Loi and I, doing as we please and going to wherever we want to go. I think that I'm going to mention a short trip to him soon and see how he reacts to it. I'm pretty certain he'll react positively to it. He's not one to flip out over much. That's part of the reason why I love him so much. 

That night...

 I pull Loi aside to ask him what's been on my mind all day. "Loi, after Tama and Maui get back from their honeymoon, I was wondering, well if you would consider, going on a trip with me for a few days. I'm so tired and I really need a break from being chief, just for a little while." Loi takes my hands in his and squeezes them gently. "I'd love that Moana." I look at him in shock. "Really?" He gives me an adorable but sincere smile. "Really." I squeal out of excitement an jump up into his arms and kiss him. Luckily he catches me before I fall to the ground and kisses me back with nothing but pure love. Gah I love him. 

Hoped that you guys liked this chapter! I haven't done three updates in one day in awhile because I'm so busy these days haha. I mainly did it because I have a work training to do after work tomorrow that's going to be time consuming and I'm not a hundred percent sure that I'll be updating tomorrow. If I do, it might be at very random times. I'll just take it in stride. :) <3 -Mary
