Happy To Be Away
Chapter 66
Moana's POV
Loi and I are sailing to a nearby island that's about six hours away. It's far enough for different scenery but close enough to get home in a week's time. I want to have a decent length vacation trip but I need to return in decent time to fulfill my active duties as chief. Plus I don't want Maui and Tama to be too heavily burdened, especially after just getting back from their honeymoon trip. I'm glad I got to spend a few days with them though before Loi and I left. I would have felt terrible if we had left right when they got back.
Anyways, I taught Loi how to sail and wayfind a few months ago and he's gotten pretty good at it. Occasionally he'll ask me a question or two, but for the most part, he has it all figured out. I'm so proud of my baby. He's like the male version of me, minus all of the awkwardness and shortness in height. He's also the more attractive of the two of us but yet he makes me feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. I love him so much. I really do see a future with him. I never thought I'd move on from Maui and find true love again, but I did. I'm letting Loi sail for three hours and then I'll take over for the other three. It's only fair to do so.
Six hours later...
Loi and I arrive right on schedule to the island. It's medium sized, very scenic, and away from the rest. We look at each other and nod in approval. Loi gets off the boat first and docks it, extending a hand to help me get off after him. From there, we explore the island and pick out our quarters where we will be sleeping and such for the next week. We find a lovely tree house not too deep into the island. It's perfect. This is perfect. Gah I'm just so happy to be away for a little while.
