Chapter 88

Tamatoa's POV

A month later...

  Maui's due to get out of the hospital in a few days. We're so excited that he gets to come home, especially Maui himself. Being laid up in a hospital isn't fun. People often think that you can get a lot of rest in the hospital but that's a lie. You get less rest in the hospital than you do at home. Maui's also responding well to his chemo treatments. Unfortunately he's completely bald now and is on the weak side, but he's alive and that's what matters to me. I'll continue to take good care of home. It's going to be so nice to have him home again. Lying in our bed isn't the same without him in it. I've tried sleeping in it a few times, but usually end up coming back to the hospital or crash at Mo's. 

 Mo and I are visiting with him now while the doctor gives him his daily treatment. Speaking of Mo, she's holding up better than Maui and I expected her too. She's been going for her monthly checkups. The babies appear to be healthy and in good shape. What a relief to hear. I was a little worried that given her extreme stress, there was a chance of a miscarriage or something of that nature. Her stomach is massive though. She's due in a little over a month. Mo's insecure about her weight but I think she looks as beautiful as she always does. Her pregnancy glow suits her well. She's nothing but pure shine now. SHINY. I LOVE SHINY THINGS AND PEOPLE. I'm sorry, I can't control myself sometimes.

   "Maui baby, are you happy that you get to leave this forsaken place in a few days?" He laughs tiredly. "I'm thrilled Tama. I mean don't get me wrong my doctor is great, but it'll be nice not having to see her everyday. No offense doc." She smiles warmly at him. "None taken Maui." I go over to her and do the unexpected, I hug her. This woman saved my true love's life. I owe her so much. "Thank you Doctor. You saved Maui's life. Because of you, he gets to live and be a parent." A tear slips down her face and she hastily wipes it away while looking at me with warmth in her eyes. "Maui is a wonderful person and I know how much you and Moana love him. He must be pretty special to have that kind of love from you two." I look at Maui lovingly. "That he is." 

   Mo reaches across the bed and grabs my hands. I take hers in mine and squeeze them lightly. "Everything's going to be okay Mo. There's a silver lining in the dark clouds that have been looming over the three of us. Maui's going to recover and you're going to give birth to our beautiful children in just a little over a month." Mo kisses me on the cheek, causing me to blush like the awkward fool I am. "W-What was that for Mo?" She puts a hand on my cheek, causing chills to spread throughout my body. "That was for being you." Maui smirks at the two of us and sings "You're Welcome", completely ruining our sweet moment. I love you Maui but sometimes you irk me with your antics. 

Hoped that you guys liked this chapter! I'm sorry for not being able to update two or three times each day. I often get really busy so I consider being able to update once a day is pretty darn good. There will be an update on my original story as well. :) -Mary
