Wedding Planning Can Be Tiring

Chapter 44

Tamatoa's POV

A month later...

We're officially two months away from our wedding and life couldn't be any more hectic than it is right now. While weddings are lovely, they sure are a lot of work. Seriously, Moana's been driving me up a wall with questions about silly things like what kind of flowers we should put in vases at the wedding reception and how seating for the wedding should be organized. I love Mo, but if she asks me anymore questions today, I'm going to throw myself into the ocean like Maui often does to Mo and even me on occasion.

"Mo, I love ya, but you're wearing me out. We've discussed so much already today along with running several wedding related errands. Can you let me have some rest now?" She rolls her eyes and puts her hands on her hips in that sassy Moana way. "Tama, I'm trying be the best wedding planner and make you and Maui's wedding super special." I can see hurt forming across her face and a sigh escapes my lips. "I know you are Moana and we appreciate it so much, but Maui and I are starting to get a little worn out. We haven't had a single day off. We've been on the go everyday for a month straight now. Maui and I need a day off. Will you please allow us to have a day off tomorrow?"

Moana puts a gentle hand on my shoulder. "You're right Tama. I've been pushing you and Maui to the extreme without even realizing it. I'm so sorry. I'll give you both the day off tomorrow from anything wedding related. Do you forgive me?" I pretend like I have to think about it, causing a frown to form on Moana's face. When I see her frown become deeper by the second, I chuckle and pull her in for a hug to make her feel better. "I know you do what you do with good intentions and a kind heart. I forgive and love you Mo." I feel her bury her face further into my chest, causing a rush of warmth to spread throughout my body. "I love you too Tama." We stay like this for a few minutes before she pulls away with a small smile and goes off to whatever chiefs do.  Maui always jokes that all she does is kiss babies but I know that being chief isn't an easy job. It often takes a toll on Mo. The poor girl needs to learn how to pace herself. She's going to have a heart attack one day if she doesn't learn to.

I shake myself out of my thoughts to go find Maui who is helping the fisherman with their daily catch as he often does. I playfully sneak up behind him and wrap my arms around him. He jumps slightly but relaxes when he realizes that it's just me. "Ah Tama babe, I've been wondering where you were." I give him a peck on the cheek. "I was doing some wedding related errands and conversation with Mo. By the way, she's giving us the day off tomorrow. Isn't that sweet of her?" Maui chuckles. "That's Mo for ya. She'll leave us alone tomorrow but then she'll be right up our asses the next day." I chuckle back. "Yeah you're probably right. Well let's just enjoy tonight and tomorrow to the fullest." He nods in agreement with a toothy grin.

For the rest of the evening, I help Maui and the fisherman organizes all of the fish that they caught today, which is a lot, and Maui and I go off to our secret place, which happens to be a small hill on Mount Montonui. We sit down on the soft grass, cuddle with one another, and gaze at the night sky reflecting off of the ocean.

Hoped that you guys liked this chapter! I'm on vacation in Maine for the next couple of days so it's possible that I may only update once per day on each of my works. Please bear with me. I love you all so much and thank you for over six hundred reads. <3  :) -Mary
