Chapter 26

Maui's POV

The next day...

 I invited Tama along to watch Moana and I practice on how to use her powers. Though Tama didn't directly admit it last night, I could tell he felt left out of the loop. I don't want him to feel that way so I'm going to include him more. Moana's doing a great job in training while Tama is a great audience and advice giver. Despite not having powers himself, he's giving Moana great pointers in terms of emotions and what not. I should make him my official teaching assistant. Maybe the mortals would even pay him with shiny things. Tama loves me with all of his heart, but he also loves shiny things. I smile to myself and chuckle. Some things never change. 

Five hours later...

   We call it a day once more. Moana did excellent today. I think with a couple more days of training, she'll be able to use her powers on her own without any help from myself or anyone else. Moana gives Tama and I both hugs before heading to her parents hut to spend some time with them. When she's out of sight, I get very affectionate with Tama. "Hey baby, did you enjoy yourself today?" He gives me a lovely smile. "I actually did. Thank you for including me today. I know that I wasn't really needed, but it means a lot to me." I smile at him before looking at him seriously. "I always need you Tama. I love you so much. I wouldn't be able to function without you. You're my heart and soul." A tear slips down Tama's cheek and I wipe it away with my thumb. "You really mean that Maui?" I nod silently, not being able to speak because my emotions are starting to get the best of me. 

   Tama leans his against mine and closes his eyes. I do the same. We stay like this for a few minutes before our lips find each other and we end up having another steamy makeout session, though this one isn't as rough as the one we had yesterday. It has a more gentle element to it. I love rough and passionate kissing, but I love gentle kissing with strong emotions behind it just as much, if not more. All I know that without Tama, there is no me. I love him, I want him, I need him. Thank you Tama for being mine. You don't know how happy you make me. One day, when the time is right, I will get down on one knee and ask you to marry me.
