I'm Home 

Chapter 89

 Maui's POV

Five days later...

 The doctor came by a few minutes ago to tell me that I will have to come back twice a week for chemo treatments, but I'm free to go home with Tama. I'm so happy right now. No scratch that, I'm over the moon. Tama is just as happy as I am, if not more so that I'm coming home today. He's already packed all of my things and gone through the discharge system for me. Before we head out, I give my doctor a hug. She's a wonderful woman who's not only great at her job, but goes above and beyond for her patients. Every doctor should be like her. 

  Tama helps me into a wheelchair and wheels me out of the hospital/doctor's hut. He goes slowly, both not to push himself and to be careful not to hurt me. He's so cautious about my well being. I love him so much. I don't know how we once hated each other. Those days seem like they were an eternity ago. Honestly they were in retrospect, but I'm so glad we found one another. "Tama, I'm so happy to be going home. I've missed lying in bed with you, staring at the lovely decor on the walls, and simply being around you so much." An adorable smile forms on Tama's face, causing me to blush. Gah he makes me blush all the time. No wonder my hormones are so out of control. "Me too baby. I'm going to celebrate the occasion by making you dinner tonight. Whatever you want, I'll make it." 

   I smile at his kind offer. "I could really go for some pork and rice." He bows playfully, which causes a chuckle to slip out. "Pork and rice it is. Any drink requests?" I bite my lip and think for a moment. "Coconut juice." He nods. "Coconut juice it is. Boy just talking about dinner is making me hungry." I nod in agreement and sigh in relief as we arrive at our hut. Tama helps me out of my wheelchair and gently places me into bed. "Get some rest Maui. I'll wake you up when it's time for dinner. You and I both know that you've hardly slept in the past few weeks." I don't object to his request and position myself comfortably. Needless to say, I'm out like a light. That goes to show just how much sleep I've been deprived of.
