Chapter 21

Tamatoa's POV 

  I decided to sail for awhile so Maui and Moana could have some alone time to talk, which I'm surprised any of us are able to since we literally collapsed onto the boat in exhaustion. I need to confess something, I'm honestly a little sad that Maui still has some lingering feelings for Moana. I mean it's understandable given how close they are and everything they've been through, but it still stings nonetheless. I'm not going to mention it though. Moana just came back from the dead and Maui's been a wreck these past few days. I don't need to add anymore fuel to the fire. So I'll simply bottle it up like I often do. Bottling emotions isn't healthy, but in order to cope, it's sometimes necessary. 

 Maui's POV

  I'm so thankful that Te Fiti was able to bring Moana back to life. I know that her healing process tires her out so it's no surprise that she returned to her slumber soon after. Though as Moana and I talk, I can't help but notice a couple of tattoos forming on her chest and back. I stare at them in shock and curiosity. "Mo, since when did you get tattoos?" She looks at me weirdly before spotting one of the tattoos (the one on her chest). A gasp slips out. "Maui, why do I have a tattoo?" "Correction, tattoos. There's also one on your back." I show her in a reflecting mirror and she gasps once again. Tama comes over to take a look at her and is in just as much shock as the both of us. Though he's the only one brave enough to ask "What if you're a demigoddess Moana?" I try to keep my calm on the outside, but on the inside I'm squealing. Te Fiti probably made her a demigoddess during the healing process.

  "Tama's probably right Moana. I'm pretty sure Te Fiti made you into a demigoddess when she healed you and brought you back to life. I'm guessing you have powers too, though I'm forbidding you to test them out until you're well rested enough. When we get back to Montonui, we'll figure out what powers to have and I'll even teach you how to use them." She nods eagerly with the first smile I've seen on her face in a long time. As I've said a hundred times in the past few hours, I'm so glad that Moana's alive again.
