Cheering Mo Up
Chapter 74
Tamatoa's POV
I'm currently sitting with Mo trying to comfort her as I suddenly spot someone on a nearby ship sailing away from Montonui. I squint in order to make out who it is... it's Peke. This must be Maui's doing. My heart soars and I have the urge to jump for joy. My baby did it, he got rid of that scumbag. Speaking of Maui, I feel a strong but soft hand stroking my back tenderly. I look up and smile when I see that it's Maui. Mo gives him a small smile and a hug. He looks at both of us with pure love. "I took of care things. Loi is banished from Montonui. If he shows up here again, death is the consequence." Mo hugs him even tighter and says "Thank you Maui." He pats her head and gives her a kiss on the cheek. "You're very welcome Mo. Are you feeling any better?" She shrugs her shoulders. "I guess though I'm kind of hungry. Can we get something to eat?" I grin at her. "We absolutely can. I'll cook. I've been dying to make a new chicken recipe I learned the other day. You two will love it."
I motion for them to follow me back into the village. I then rush into Maui and I's hut to grab a few ingredients and begin cooking. It doesn't take too long and before we know it, the chicken's ready to eat. I eagerly watch Maui and Mo take their first bite of it before I eat mine. I light up as I see positive reactions from them. "This is so freaking good", Mo says. Maui smiles and nods in agreement. "Babe, this is the best chicken I've ever had. You must let me know your secret." I laugh and put a finger to his lips. "A good chef doesn't reveal his cooking secrets, though you're free to guess and try to figure it out on your own." Maui rolls his eyes playfully. "Fine I will." He sticks out his tongue at me and I do the same back, which earns an adorable giggle from Mo. The sound melts my heart, especially given how sad she's been today. I'm glad that between Maui getting rid of Loi and Maui and I's silly banter, we've managed to not only put a smile on her face but make her laugh as well. I consider it a good end to a bad day.
