Chapter 71

Moana's POV

   Loi and I are currently pulling into Montonui. Both sadness and joy hit me at once. I'm sad to have to face the stress of being chief again but happy to see my best friends. I've missed them both so much. I know that they held the fort down for me while I was gone, which I appreciate very much. As soon as we dock the boat, I run into Maui and Tamatoa's arms. I glance back at Loi and see that he's a little... jealous. That's crazy. He knows that Maui, Tama, and I are all just FRIENDS. If I see it again, I'll pull him aside and gently test out the topic.  For now, I'm just enjoying the feeling of hugging two my favorite people in the universe. 

    We pull apart from our hug after a few minutes and make our way further onto the shore. Loi gives Maui and Tama a nod before shifting around on his feet awkwardly. "I'll see you later Mo." I raise an eyebrow at him skeptically. "Is everything okay Loi?" He nods, almost too eagerly. "Yes, yes everything's fine. I just have some things to check on is all." I sigh and let him go. He silently thanks me and I watch him until he's out of sight. When he is, I plop down onto a rock in frustration. Maui and Tama both frown at me. "What's the matter princess?" I roll my eyes at Maui's famous nickname for me. "Loi's just been acting weird the entire ride home. He's been doing everything he can to avoid me. Plus when I was just hugging you guys, it almost looked like he was jealous. Am I imagining things and going crazy or no?" Tama shakes his no. "To be honest Mo, I think he is. I really think that you should talk to him later. It's clear that something's bothering him." I nod in agreement. "You're right. I'm going to give him some space for now but over dinner I want to talk to him about this."

    Maui puts a comforting hand on my shoulder. "No matter what happens, you'll always have us Mo. We love you more than any guy out there ever could." I blush at his sincere comment. "Thank you guys. I don't know what I'd do without you both. By the way, thank you for filling in for me while I was away. You're the only two people I trust enough besides my parents to lead this village." Tama gives me a toothy grin. "It's no problem Mo. We had our stressful moments like you often do but we got through it." Maui nods in agreement. I move over to where Maui and Tama are sitting and sit right in between them. I wrap one arm around Maui and the other around Tama. I pull them both towards me and kiss both of their cheeks. They mean everything to me. I need them around forever. Luckily we're all immortal so I don't have to worry too much. Loi on the other hand is still mortal... The only way he can become immortal is we get married, which I'm not quite sure will happen given his strange behavior.
