Chapter 19 

Maui's POV

  Ah the open ocean, how I've missed you my dear friend. I hasn't been that long since I was last out on the ocean, but voyaging is in my blood. Therefore, I constantly want to be out sailing and doing what I do best besides save the world, which is voyage. Unfortunately this trip isn't a happy reunion with Te Fiti. My focus is saving Moana. Tama volunteered to sail for awhile and give me a little space. So I decided to sit down in the corner of the boat and hold Moana's body in my arms for awhile. Of course doing so only makes me sadder, but in some weird way, it gives me the strength to get across the sea and bring her back to life. 

  Though Tama has to stop blaming himself for Moana committing suicide. It isn't Tama's fault, it's mine. If I had only stayed in love with Moana and continued to care for her instead of tossing her aside like rotten garbage, she would probably still be alive. Now I'm not saying I regret falling in love with Tama because I sure as hell don't, but I know deep down in my heart that I absolutely could have ended things better with Moana and treated her with more respect, before, during , and after our relationship ended. If Te Fiti is able to bring back Moana, I will make sure that I never say or do anything else to hurt Moana ever again. I swear on my life. 

Tamatoa's POV

 I adjust the sails when needed, but otherwise my attention is on Maui. I feel so bad for my baby. His world was shattered today. Though I admire him as well. Despite today being the worst day of his life, well besides his parents throwing him into the sea long ago, he still managed to find the strength to make this journey. This journey isn't an easy one, especially given our current mental states. Things with Te Fiti could go either really well or really sour. I'm leaning towards the first choice obviously, but Te Fiti might be turned off by my presence.  That's why when we get to Te Fiti, I'm going to wait on the shore while Maui brings Moana to her. Since he restored the heart with Moana, she deemed him worthy of forgiveness. Me on the other hand, she's quite hesitant with, which is completely understandable. If she allows me to come to her, I will. Otherwise, my idea will be for the best. We still have a few days before we get to Te Fiti so for now, I just need to relax to best of my abilities.
