The Second And Last Day Off Before The Wedding
Chapter 47
Tamatoa's POV
A little other a month later...
There are only three weeks left until Maui and I's wedding, three weeks, that's all. Being so busy with all of the planning has helped to make the time fly by super fast. I just want to marry Maui already. I know three weeks isn't that far away, but it feels like an eternity. If I had the ability to push forward the wedding date, I would. Maui and I have our second and last day off before the wedding. Bless you Moana and kind heart for giving us a grand total of two days off. What a saint you are. By the way, I'm being both sincere and sarcastic.
Maui and I wanted to spend the afternoon relaxing at the top of Mount Montonui, mentally picturing our magical day that's going down in just three weeks. We decided to hike up today because I'm a little out of shape and could use the work out. We plan on hiking down later too. Cheers to fitness! That was a hundred percent since this time. I love simple dates like these. Most people demand for fancy dinners and shiny objects on every single date, but that's not me. Despite loving shiny things I love Maui a whole lot more.
Maui's POV
Tama admires the view so much every time we come up here but little does he know that the view I'm looking at is much better. I know it's super cheesy but it's true. I often stare at Tama for hours on end before even shifting my gaze else where. "Tama, my love, my crab cakes, how do you feel about us getting married soon?" He looks at me with all of the love in the world. "I'm so ready to marry you big goof." A rush of warmth spreads through my body and across my face. I can feel the heat in my cheeks and my smile growing wide. "I'm ready to marry you too crab cakes. To be honest, I was thinking about asking Mo to bump up the wedding, but I didn't want to push her. She's been really stressed lately."
Tama nods in agreement. "You're right. Say we should do something nice for her to cheer up. How about we make her dinner tonight and we can all eat together?" I put an arm around Tama and pull him towards me. "That's a great idea Tama."
That evening...
The sun begins to set and we hike back down to the village. When we get there, we see a slightly sad looking Moana alone in her garden, covered in dirt. I smirk lightheartedly down at her. "Need a hand princess?" I extend my hand out for her to take. She groans but takes it. Tama takes a step towards her and puts a hand on her back to help her balance as she slips. "Are you okay Mo?", he asks her. Moana sighs. "I'm fine. I've just had long day is all. The villagers were so demanding today." She slumps back down on a nearby rock. I put a hand to her cheek. "Well we're going to make you dinner so you don't have to tire yourself out further." She gives us both a small smile. "You guys don't have to do that." Tama and I both chuckle and say in unison "We know but we want to."
Mo jumps into both of our arms giving us the tightest hugs that she's ever given us. I can feel the mixture of emotions in her embrace. When we pull apart from Mo, I look into her eyes seriously. "You're taking the day off tomorrow Mo. You've been wearing yourself down to a nub. We need you healthy emotionally, physically, and mentally. Do you promise us you'll relax tomorrow?" She nods and promises us that she will do exactly as we ask. Satisfied with her answer, Tama and I cook up some chicken for all of us to eat. We doesn't take too long. We eat together happily and talk for a little while before we order Mo to brush her teeth and go straight to bed. We don't mean to baby her, but we're worried about her. Hopefully her day off tomorrow will actually help her.
