Chapter 30

Tamatoa's POV

 I hate being sick and confined to the damn small space of this hut. Don't get me wrong it's a lovely hut to live in, but I want nothing more than to venture about with Maui. Normally he's on my side, which is why I'm extra annoyed right now. Instead of having fun with me, he's playing good cop and making sure I sleep. Well guess what? I've been sleeping all day. Believe it or not, I don't enjoy sleeping every minute of every day. I'm one of those people that sleeps enough to get by, but I'd much rather spend my time doing other things. 

  "Maaaauuuuiiii, can we please go outside? Just for a few minutes?" Maui wakes up groggily and sighs. "Fiiinnnneee. Give me a minute to wake up." I nod and grin victoriously. He rolls his eyes, but returns the grin. "How'd you sleep love?" "I slept great. How about you?" Maui gives me a kiss on the cheek. "I slept just fine babe." He sits up in bed. We freshen up quickly and run down to the shore. The sun is going to set soon, but the heat of the day is beginning to fade, making it more bearable to be outside. 

   I sit down by the water, letting the water soak my feet. It's refreshing. Maui joins me and does the same. "I'm sorry for being such a pest today Maui. It's just no fun to be cooked up for a long period of time. I have horrible cabin fever in which I can't stay in for more than a few hours without having to go out. Well unless it's late at night or the weather's crappy. If only I was feeling good today we could have gone swimming or something of that nature." Maui wraps an arm around me. "Don't apologize for being sick Tama. We all get sick at some point. Even I, the great Maui, demigod of the wind and sea, hero to men and women, hero to all, gets sick sometimes." I roll my eyes. "You and your ego babe. It's like you're trying to prove a point that you can be more in love with yourself than you are with me."

   He cups my chin, getting me to look into his eyes. "I may love my ego, but not as much as I love you." I blush and hide my face in my hands. He chuckles and pulls my hands away from my face, kissing both of them before meeting my lips. I swear Maui and I kiss just as much as we actually talk. Damn we're hormonal.
