Lightning and Thunder pt 3

It was a Wednesday. The day that I finally succumb to my feelings for him.

Dayu just broke up from his last relationship. It was not a mutual decision. The girl dumped him.

But that was over the weekend and now it's Wednesday. He assured us he is fine now. That he got drunk already and cried all his tears.

There was a storm brewing on the horizon on that Wednesday morning and it will hit Beijing. An advisory was given that people should stay at home if they don't have any urgent business outside.

Unfortunately, they never gave out advisory to not fall for your crazy friend.

It was a usual day. Classes are not suspended but cut short due to the storm. Instead of visiting my hotpot shop, I decided to stay at the dorm with Dayu and our other roommates.

Dayu...well he is not the brightest color on the Crayola box (not smart at all) but when he is interested in one thing, he will really give his all to master it.

Like playing video games. Now, he is an expert on that. Dayu can beat anyone in any video game match. We used to tease him that maybe playing video games was the only entertainment available to him up there in the provincial North that's why he became so good at it. He would just smile. He loves answering by beating our city boy asses in video games.

But playing videos was cut short when the power went out after a bright lighting and loud thunder roared in the sky. For a moment, all was dark except for the lights from the screen of our phones.

Dayu: Blackout...

Me: (deadpanned) Yes Captain Obvious, we are all aware.

Our other dormmates grumbled too and started going into their own bunk beds. But not Dayu, he is crazy, remember?

He slid next to me in my bed and put his mouth right next to my ear.

Dayu: I am bored.

Me: (affected by his nearness) (what?! I am alive and he is cute) Listen to some music. Watch some videos on your phone.

Dayu: The internet is down too. Remember, no electricity, no internet.

Me: You have no videos saved on your phone?

Dayu: I don't like evidences. What if someone steals my phone and saw the contents...

Oh my God, is he for real? Evidence of what? Jeez...

Me: (pushing him away a bit) We have some snacks, eat then.

Dayu: (shaking his head) I am bored, not hungry.

Me: (whispering back) We have four other dormmates, bother them.

Dayu: They are not as cool as you Qing ge.

Wow! He really think I am that stupid to fall for that flimsy flattering.

Me: So true. So what do you want to do?

I am vain...I admit it.

Dayu: (brightening) You will go with me?

Me: (sighing resignedly) Will you stop bothering me if I say no? (Please say yes)

Dayu: Nah! You are right, I will bother you until you said yes. So come with me.

Me: (resigned to my fate) Where?

Dayu: In the laundry room. Let's watch the storm.
