Dare to Love

I just had my fansigning event for my newest album, "Dare to Love..."

You guys might ask why that is the title of my album. I may give different answers everytime someone will ask me that. But here...I will write some words about it.

We should all dare to love. Because contrary to what everyone think, it's actually hard to love. It's easy to like someone or something. It's even easier to dislike people and things. It's easier to get mad or hate than to actually love someone or something or an idea.

Because loving means you can forgive someone who did something wrong against you. Loving means overlooking little imperfections when you are looking for something perfect. In this world that everything is instant, it's hard to be in love and stay in love with an idea. Newer things popped up everytime. People are more fickle minded than ever. It's easier to shrug off things and jump from one thing to another.

Easier to leave something that you think change. Easier to give up when things became difficult to do. It's easier now to judge, to bash, to say things that could hurt because we are behind the anonymity of a username. It's easier to misunderstand each other.

It's sad but as technology progresses and access to things became easier to get. It's also easier for all of us to forget that we are all humans and compassion and understanding each other is still important.

I am lecturing again, am I?

Sorry. But that's what love is for me. Giving compassion and being understanding. Putting myself on another person's shoes. I won't dish out what I won't eat. The golder rule and all.

So...I dare you to love today. Someone say something nasty or ugly about you, let it all pass, ignore or understand that person who say those not too nice things about you. Maybe he or she is going through a tough time and he or she is venting some suppressed anger.

Let's be more understanding and more compassionate. Even for just today.

Let's love. Let's dare to love. You might not know it, it might be a beginning of something wonderful.

So my fans...you are all badass.

Really...asking me to tell Qing that you want to sleep with me. C'mon guys, you want your Baba to hunt and string us all? Don't...he he he we are all still young to die by your Baba's hand.

Kidding...

The fans who managed to came to the event are all so sweet. Some gave me gifts. Some gave me words of encouragement and some asked me to sit down out of concern for me (or were they just teasing me) while I refused because of my bad hips and waist.

I fell while practicing a dance routine so I had bad hurting waist. But I forgot the pain as I said hi and did some high fives with my fans. Taking photos with you all, making new memories together.

Wow...the support you guys gave me overwhelms and humbles me. You all dared to love and support me and I hope I am making all of you proud. I don't know if I deserve all the love I am receiving from everyone but like what Qing said...

Qing: Who can say if a person really deserve the love he is getting? No one. I think we are all undeserving of love and devotion but if someone dared to love us and accept us for who we are, flaws and all, who are we to question that? That's blessing there, Dayu, we don't question blessings, we just open our arms and accept it. That is luck there, we don't question luck, we just welcome it.

Me: I'm just curious. Do I deseve all their love and support? All their efforts and screams...

Qing: You don't. You don't derserve them Dayu. Like I don't deserve someone like you to love me and stay with me. But you are here. They are there for you. You love me. They love you. You don't question that. You don't need to be curious to learn their reasons for loving and supporting you. What you can do is work hard to show them that they didn't make a mistake for following you. What you can do is appreciate them. Hold on to them with all your might. Never let them go. You don't question love and devotion, my curious Little Squirrel. You kneel and pray and thank the One above for blessing you with people who love you.

Qing is really wise.

We don't deserve love but there are people who will see something in us worth to love so they will love us. Those people are either stupid or really brave because they dare to love.

Being a fan is really a brave thing to do. That unconditional love and efforts you give for just one glimpse of your idol. Then you feel satisfied. I know because I am a fan too. I know that the struggle is real.

So I will listen to Qing. I will hold on with all my might to those people giving me love. My family, my lover, my friends and most especially to those who are not getting tired and keep on believing in me. My other family, my fans...

We are still one family, okay? You guys are still my confidence. Your love is my ego. You are my pride. You also make me proud everytime I see you with those colorful banners and hearing you guys screaming my name.

I may not deserve you guys but I will never let you go. I got my hooks on all of you. You have to stay with me now. You all nutty acorns of mine. I am a squirrel so you must be my acorns that I collect and...eat?

Huh?

(Uhm, Dayu...I think there is something wrong with that thought.)

Yeah...I don't eat people. I am not a cannibal. No offense to actual cannibals but...uhm...I don't think I should continue with these line of thoughts. This is too horrific and dark for me.

I am a romcom kind of guy.

So to summary...

My fans are badasses, like me. But still, I will not tell your Baba that you want to sleep with me.

And we should all dare to love. Let's all be brave and look for something to love to one another. I am not saying love everyone meaning you can have multiple affairs, that's cheating people. Don't go and point at me and say that Dayu taught you to dare to love. So you are loving everyone. Having two or more lovers. I will smack you. Don't think I will not. Don't be obtuse, I am not teaching polygamous affair here.

I mean, let's look at others and see positive things instead of their flaws. Let's go beyond physical, let's go beyond typical. Let's not choose the easy path of judging and bashing and hating. Let's take that long, winding, maybe trial filled road of love because in the end, you will see that it's worth it to be kind to one another and this world will be a better place because of it.

Love, people. It's the best feeling of all.
