You give Uta a patient smile as your phone starts to buzz. You slowly - unwillingly - break the embrace to take your phone out. The screen displays two buttons (a red one and a green one) and 'Brother' written in black.
You tap he green button and bring your phone up to your ear. "Hello?"
"(Y/N), can you ask Uta something?"
"Sure..."
"Has he got a Netflix subscription?"
You let out a long sigh at Kaneki's comment. "I will not ask him that," you bluntly tell him, "But I need to know how you're getting on with Tsukyama."
You hear a yell from the background. It's definitely Tsukyama as you can distinctively hear the words 'betrayed' and 'berry'.
"He's moaning about how you're going on a date with Uta."
"He's the one who sent the text message!"
"Oh yeah," you hear Kaneki say as he turns to Tsukyama. He yells as him and you hang up immediately.
You slip your phone back into your pocket and turn back to Uta. He catches your gaze and gives a faint smile as he walks towards you again. That's when you realise that, as you were on the phone to Kaneki, you had wondered a few metres away.
Uta slides his hand back into yours and puts his other hand on your head. Slowly, he starts to scruff up your hair but you don't stop him. He lets out a sigh as he stands back from you. He starts to pull you again, more caring this time. You exchange small talk along the way with the occasional laughter.
Maybe you'll enjoy this time with him anyway.
