Marian had to remain in the hospital for another week as the doctors continued to monitor her and run tests. She was going stir crazy. Harry brought Faith every day and it made her heart filled with joy and made her smile on a constant basis. She was trying not to think about her grim diagnosis and the thought of leaving everyone she loved. She may have beaten her cancer, but she didn't think she could beat this. This was literally life and death. After Harry would leave to take Faith home, she would only then let her tears fall. She could see the pain in his face every time he was there and she didn't know how he was going to cope after she was gone.  She also updated her will with her lawyer when Harry wasn't there.  She knew she would never have to worry about Faith or her future, but she needed other things to be written down.  Her wishes.

Kaia came to visit her off and on. But they did talk every day on the phone. Kaia had told her that once she was home, she would bring the twins and Karim to visit once she was settled and that she didn't want to tire her out. She knew it was hard for Kaia to see her in the hospital as well and she could see the stress on her best friend's face. She could see the big change in her as she knew she was trying to stay strong not only for her but for everyone else they loved. And that she wasn't trying to break down crying every time she came to see her.

Katia would call her on the phone and they would talk and Marian insisted that she not postpone her wedding. She needed to get married to Liam before she died and before Liam and Kaia did something stupid and decided that they needed each other again. She had told Marian that things were different now and that they only saw each other as close friends. But Marian still worried as she always would that Kaia would stray back into Liam's arms. Katia tried to protest about postponing it but Marian was very persistent in pushing her and she insisted she would still be alright to stand up as her matron of honor.

Harry asked Kaia and Katia to come over to the house to tidy things up. Rosalie and Jeremy had gone back to California for a few days to finish some loose ends there and Anne and Gemma had to get back home for a few days as well.

Kaia finished the dishes that were in the sink and then watched as her sister began to bag up the garbage. More like slamming things into the garbage bag. She dried her hands and watched her.

"You know that bag never did anything to you," she said. "Want to talk about how you're feeling about all of this?"

"Why, what's the point? I ruin everything. I finally find a best friend and now she is dying!" Katia scowled. "And I can't get married, I'm utter poison. This is all my fault, I should just give Marian my heart."

Kaia rolled her eyes. "This isn't your fault," she said snapping her voice a little. "Did you make her heart not work properly?" She asked. "No. Now stop saying it's your fault. And yes, you can and you will get married before she...." she started but stopped her words. She was trying to be strong.

"We have poison in our veins. Mom and Dad said so," Katia said. "Why is this happening, if it wasn't because of our bad karma?"

Kaia rolled her eyes again. "We are not poison." She said. "I don't think we have bad karma." She walked over to her sister and took her hand, forcing her to sit down at a table. "We can't let ourselves get down. No matter how hard this is right now. She's always has a bad heart. It isn't our fault."

"Ok, if you say so, Kaia. I'm just so worried about Marian and little Faith," she sighed heavily.

"We're all worried," she said. "And she's not going to let you postpone your wedding you know, that right?" She asked her.

"If I leave Liam and go back to California she won't be able to stop me from postponing it," Katia said and wandered into the Kitchen. She needed something to wet her whistle
