"Destiny Hope Malik," Zayn scolded his daughter.  "That is incredibly disrespectful."

Bruce couldn't help but laugh at his granddaughter's excitement.  "It's alright, Zayn," he said.  "Destiny, you and your brother can have one present before dinner and then the rest after.  How does that sound?"

Destiny went up to him and smiled.  "Okay, grandpa."

Bruce smiled back at her.  Hearing her say 'grandpa' made his heart melt and he looked at Ahmir and Karim in Kaia's arms and he would do anything for them.  Anything to protect them.  "I'll be right back," he said.  "Katia, where did you put the bags?" He asked.

Katia looked at her father.  "They're in the living room.  I'll show you."

Bruce followed her and pulled out a present for each of his grandchildren.  He returned to the dining room and handed Destiny a new doll with lots of outfits and Ahmir he handed the chess set too.  Destiny was all over him, hugging him and squealing and Ahmir politely said thank you to him and then went to put it in his room.

"Did I buy him the wrong thing?" Bruce asked Zayn quietly.

"No, he's just missing Marian a lot," he said.  "It probably reminds him of her.  He'll come around."

"I didn't mean to make him sad."

"It's alright," Zayn said.  "He'll be okay."

Kaia handed Karim back to his father.  "I'll heat up one of his bottles," she said and went to the kitchen.  He followed her and she made up a bottle for her son.

"Kaia," Zayn said softly.

"I'm okay, I promise," she said with a small smile and handed him the bottle as Katia came into the kitchen.

Zayn kissed her on the cheek and gave her a small nod before heading to the living room to feed Karim and watch their daughter play with her new doll before dinner.

Katia could still feel the tension as helped Kaia dish up dinner on platters and she could tell that her sister was not really saying anything.  "Kaia...I...."

Kaia turned to look at her.  "Katia, don't say you're sorry.  And don't apologize for saying what you feel.  I just wish you would've said something sooner instead of bottling it all up inside. That is when problems start and issues are never resolved.   We're never going to be able to move forward in our relationship together if you aren't honest with me about things," she said.  "Even if it pisses me off or makes me angry.  Honesty, no matter how painful, is the best course of action.  It's something that I've learned.  Albeit the hard way sometimes, but if you aren't honest with those you love the most, then you're going to lose them."

Katia's mouth opened and then quickly closed shut at her sister's words.  "Okay," she said.

Kaia moved closer to her.  "But I know that there's always going to be the one thing between us that will cause us anger and sadness," she said with some sadness in her voice.  "And for that I'm sorry." She said and headed to the dining room.

Katia sighed heavily as she followed her.  They set the food on the table and everyone sat down.

"Is everything alright with the two of you?" Liam whispered to her.

"It's fine," she said with a small snap in her voice and then turned to look at him.  "Sorry, it's just been a really long day.

As they all ate, the conversation was pleasant.  Bruce asked Zayn and Liam about their work as singers and what might be next for them.  He also tried to engage in conversation with Destiny and Ahmir.  At times there was laughter as well and everyone seemed to be relaxing after a little while.  Bruce also asked his daughters what their plans were for their own careers.
