Chapter 86

After Kaia went home, she had shown Zayn the pictures of the billboard. He couldn't help but smirk and knew this night send Harry over the edge.

They talked to the twins and told them that T wasn't going to be leaving right away to go with Harry. That she was going to stay and help mummy in whichever way she could.

They spent the weekend together as a family and went to Bradford to spend time with the Malik's.

The night before the surgery, Kaia was frantically rushing around the house making sure everything was clean. Laundry was done. She'd even gone grocery shopping earlier in the day and stocked up on everything. She stood in the kitchen and debated about reorganizing the pantry one more time when she heard footsteps behind her. She turns around and saw her husband standing there with his arms crossed. "Hey."

"Hey," Zayn smiled at her. "Those poor dry goods."

"What do you mean those poor dry goods?" She asked and turned back to loaf the pantry. "I want to make sure everything is the way it should be for you all for when I'm at the hospital and for when I come home. I...I don't know how tired I'll be and I...." she stammered. 

"The pantry of dry goods.  You don't need to worry about any of this, I have it covered. Relax baby."

 She turned around. Her hands twisting in front of her. "I...I need to make sure my family's needs are taken care of ...." she said. 

"Baby, it is a routine surgery," He said taking her hand. "Plus if anything happens.I will always have Marian," He winked at her.

She held tightly to his hand and sighed heavily. "I know. I'm trying not to stress about everything and I...." she looked up at him. "Smartass."

"I know she would be the only one you would be okay with me moving on with," He smirked kissing her hand.

"You're not being funny," she said looking at him. "Maybe I need to drink some tea."

Zayn walked over to the freezer and pulled out a bottle of vodka. "I was only trying to relieve the tension, love," He said pouring them both a shot. "Drink this and relax.  We both know that Marian belongs with Louis."

Kaia picked up the shot glass and gave him a small smile. "I know she does," she said. "I'm sorry. I'm just so bloody nervous. I know...I know I have nothing to worry about but.." she quickly drank down the shot. Feeling the coldness run down her throat. "Damn that's good."

"I know," He said downing his own shot. "Baby, relax everything will be fine." 

She slid her glass towards him. "One more?" She asked.

"One more." He winked "But only one.  Then you need to rest."

"Are the babies all in bed?" She asked as he poured her another.

"Yes, everyone is prepped and ready to go to the hospital in the morning," Zayn said downing his drink. "Will you please relax."

She drank down her second shot and put their glasses in the sink. "I know..I'm sorry...." she said. "What time do we need to be there again?"

"Butt crack of dawn," he laughed. 

She couldn't help but groan and glanced at the clock. "I suppose we should get ready for bed ourselves."

"I'll tuck you in," He grinned then kissed her cheek.

 "Cuddle?" She asked as they turned off the lights and headed upstairs to their room.
