General Beliefs

Let's talk about general beliefs about men. Men in general...

For example...

A new study shows that men in general like a smart woman but more often than not will be reluctant to have a relationship with one.

This intrigued me.

Well...as you all know, if you have been an avid reader of my diary/journal that I am in a relationship with another man. And Qing will not like it if I address him in any way feminine.

Not like it is an understatement.

Qing will go ballistic.

Qing's pride is too manly. He is by no means mysogynist, or hating anything about women...despite his tumultous relationship with his sister. No, Qing knows how to respect and be gallant to women. He is an old fashioned gentleman after all.

I mean...you all might think he is not sweet to his mother or sister by the way I described him in this diary but nothing can be farther from the truth. Qing loves the females in his life. And he will be the first one to wreck havoc if anyone hurt his mother, sister or my mother.

But like I am saying...before I digress, I am in a same sex relationship. Two guys and no girl...so why does this study intrigued me.

Well...maybe because I have straight friends who dates women and I have women in my life so I don't know about this study. I think the women in my life are all smart, most of them are married. So what is this?

Did this study got it wrong? I think men dates and marry smart women. Males do have relationship with smart women.

So what the hell?

Qing: Smart, strong men have the guts to marry smart women.

Me: So men who marry women who are not smart...is a coward?

Qing stopped watching basketball on the TV to turn to me.

Qing: What the hell is this all about?

Me: Nothing. I am just intrigued by this. I mean...aren't all women smart?

Qing: (turning back on the TV) No. There are stupid people in this world, Dayu. Men and women alike. Not everyone is intelligent. Not every intelligent person is clever. Not all clever people are savvy. If there are stupid men around, there's a chance that on the female side, there are stupids too.

Me: I see. But Qing...hypothetically speaking. If you are straight, will you go for a smart woman?

Qing: Of course. You know me, I cannot abide stupid people.

Me: (nodding) True. True that.

Qing: But all of that is a moot point, I am gay, I don't have it in me to be with a woman while you (giving me a squinty look) will not have sexual relationship with anyone else unless you want to see me murder someone.

Yikes!

Qing went back to his basketball viewing while I scrunched my face.

Me: I just find this study weird. Men are reluctant to have a relationship with smart women. What about Mr.Li? My Baba? Your Baba? Your brother in law? They are married, not just to smart women but strong as well.
