So, for fun, let's talk about gender equality.

Qing: (choking on his coffee) What?

Me: It's just a thought. For a topic.

Qing: (looking around panickedly) Why are we...fuck. Really? You wanna go there?

Me: Why not?

Qing: Ahm...I don't know how to tell you this, Dayu. But...#metoo...

Me: (paling) I never sexually harassed a woman, Qing! And I didn't raped anyone too!

Qing: (sighing) Damn, that escalated fast. No Dayu, I am not accusing you of anything. I just think...since this women issue is hot nowadays, I think we should stir away from issues sensitive to women. For example, gender equality.

Me: Why? We will just discuss it. In a friendly way. You see...

Qing: Oh are we really going to do it?

Me: You are this scared?

Qing: Not really. It's just people are too sensitive nowadays. Last week, my sister and mother almost bite my head off for saying something about women not knowing how to make decent homemade tea anymore.

Me: Yikes.

Qing: I was actually gearing up to compliment my Mama's tea. It was really good...

Me: Yes. Mama makes the best tea. I love my mother, but your Mama has professional training in making tea. Her teas are good.

Qing: Exactly. And I said, it's sad that most women nowadays doesn't make good tea like my Mama or sister does and they got angry. Like...really angry. I had to sit there for two hours being lectured about how single mothers had no time to make tea because they are busy putting food on the table. Or how chauvinistic of me to think that women should learn how to make tea when men can very well take their asses to the kitchen to make one for themselves.

Me: Wow.

I laughed. Not because Mama and JiJi got angry at Qing but because my lover look physically wounded at getting severe lecture from his mother and sister.

Qing: I am not a chauvinist. I don't get male machismo. I respect women. I do. So I don't understand, why did they jumped on me and get close enough to reporting me to the #metoo movement just because I said a little comment about tea? It's a freaking tea, Dayu!

I think that sums up the difference between men and women. Qing's simple innocent comment about women and good tea was taken out of context because women and men, think differently.

Women and men have different thinking process. Women nitpick everything. Come on ladies, admit it. You are more guilty of nitpicking than men. Which by the way, is not really bad. Nitpicking is good in many situations but not all the time.

Admit it, ladies, you take our comments. Dissect it word for word, letter for letter, repeat those words in different tones in your head and then decide that we are condenscending bastards who patronize the women.

That cannot be farther from the truth.

I will admit, there are jerks out there. Total assholes. Men who thinks women are their property just because they put a ring on it. Bastards, those ballless jerks. Bet their penises are small too.

Sorry for the vulgarity.

What I am trying to say, not all the apples in the crate are rotten. Not all comments about tea are a slight against women. Sometimes, it's about the tea. Simple as that.
