Open Relationship pt1

Qing came to me one day asking for an unusual favor.

Qing: (presenting a glossy paper to me) If Jin's girlfriend calls you, tell her that you and I were with Jin on this night...

It was a sample ticket for a pre Valentine's concert.

Me: (frowning) Why?

Qing: (shaking his head) Don't ask too many questions. Just tell Jin's girlfriend that Jin were with us this night.

Me: But Jin was not with us that night.

Qing: Yeah...I know but still tell her...

Me: You want me to lie to her.

Qing: Well...yeah...

Me: Qing? Is that you? Are you really asking me to lie?

Qing: Uhm...yes.

I gave him a look like I didn't know him. Qing is quite an honest person. Oh I know he is not perfect and he lied too many times to too many people. Heck we are both lying because up until now, we don't tell the public and our fans that we are together.

But this one lie feels different.

Me: Why should I lie for you and Jin?

Qing: Well, you will not lie for me and Jin. You will lie for Jin's sake but as a favor for me. I will pay back that favor.

Me: By what? By lying for me?

Qing: I lied for you.

Me: (mouth falling open) I never...

Qing: You made me lie to your mother when she asked if you are fine. You said to tell her that you are fine even if you are actually sick.

Me: That's so 2017.

Qing: You made me lie to your stylist last week by telling her that I disapprove of the outfits she picks for you when in truth you hate the outfit because, and I am quoting you, you will look like a leprechaun on it. But you cannot tell her.

Me: Because it will hurt her feeling. And that outfit is outrageous. It's so green.

Qing: Fuck I care what that outfits' color is. The point is, you made me lie for you. Several times. And I do it for free. Do this for me and I will even owe you a favor. Why are you making too much fuss about this?

Me: (glaring) Because I feel like you making me lie for you and Jin and me making you lie for me are two totally different things. I made you lie because I don't want anyone to worry about me or be sad for my choices. You, why should I lie to Jin's girlfriend? What happened between Jin and her that night?

Qing: Nothing happened between them because they were not together that night.

Ah...details. I love this.

Me: (hands on my hips) Why? This looks like a date for Valentine's Day. Why was Jin not with his girlfriend? Where was he?

Qing: (with a straight face) With you and me.

Me: (outraged) Wang Qing!

Qing: (wincing) Dayu ah, please, don't ask too many questions. Just do this for me. Please. Huh?

I studied my boyfriend. Qing and Jin are old friends. They had known each other since diaper days. Studied together in a private primary school and became close in high school. In college, Jin also studied on the same university where Qing and I graduated but in different department.
