Impatient

The ladies' conference call lasted for two hours and 46 minutes. Yes, I counted the hours. It's weird of me, I know.

I find it amazing that girls can talk to each other for a long period of time. They flitted from topic to topic and it seems like it won't end. Like the topics they want to discuss are inexhaustible and they can do this all day and all night.

JiJi: (once the video call ended) You and Qing talks for hours too.

Me: Yeah but it's because we are lovers. And we miss each other.

JiJi: Well we are friends and we are living faw away from each other.

Me: Still...why do girls have that ability to talk for hours to each other. And then look, you guys are still messaging each other on the group chat. How can you do that...?

JiJi: (shrugging while typing a message for their group chat on her phone) I don't know. I guess we love to talk and we are amazing that way.

Me: (nodding) Okay...

JiJi stared at me.

JiJi: Are you okay?

Me: Yeah.

JiJi: You didn't just lie to me, right?

Me: A little.

JiJi: (putting aside her phone, focusing on me) Talk to me. Come on...

Me: I just feel nervous about my birthday event. And my plans for the rest of the year.

JiJi: Ah typical Virgo. Always looking ahead, worrying about the future instead of enjoying the now.

Me: Are Virgos like that?

JiJi: Maybe. You are like that. Qing and I observed it. You like planning, doing all you can to follow it and then pout when things didn't go your way. You are an OCD and a perfectionist. God, it must be exhausting to live with you.

I winced at that.

Me: Did Qing said something about being exhausted while living with me?

JiJi: All the time. He complains that Dayu is this...Dayu is that...etc etc. Qing said you are like a buttetfly that scurry around the garden all day...busy, occupied, distracted, goal oriented.

Me: Wow...

Should I feel betrayed now, by my lover who thinks I flutter like a butterfly?

JiJi: (smiling at me) I told Qing you are exactly what he needs. He agreed with me and he admits that he won't know what he will do if you guys are not living together.

Me: (feeling shy) I see.

Okay...I feel happy again. Qing cannot live without me. Good of him to realize that. He he...

(Someone's happiness is so simple...)

Yeah, that's me. I have simple happiness. Qing admitting that he cannot live without me is one of my happy moment.

JiJi smiled at me kindly.

JiJi: Dayu ah, relax for a bit. You are fine. Life is really not about accomplishing everything. It's about working hard to be happy. A person should not aspire to get all the riches and success, instead he should aspire to be content with the result of his hardwork. I am not saying you need to laze around. I am saying, one goal at a time. Then after achieving that goal, take some time to breath and enjoy that victory before you eye the next goal. Even experienced hikers take time to rest. They know when to stop and put up their camp.
