Is it me or this January is extra cold?

I mean, you all know and I have unexpectedly disclose the fact that I am like Elsa: the cold never bothered me. But even I who is used to the cold climate of Heilongjiang, in the upper Northeastern part of the country, feels like this January is colder than the previous Januaries that passed by.

And also, is Januaries a real word?

Never mind that.

So it's cold. And me being sick at the start of the year makes sense now because well...it's freaking cold.

(Just how many times will you say the word "cold" throughout this chapter?)

Probably a hundred times. But count for me, okay?

Anyways, because of the weather, we should all wear warm clothes. Jacket, thick coats, scarves, gloves and earmuffs should be a staple part of our outfits.

It's true what they all say, prevention is better than cure. It will cost you too.

Take it from Qing. He calculated it. The man is weird. How can he calculate what one person can lose when you get sick?

Qing: Medicine, it can cost you from 2 to 4 thousand yuan depending on the brand.

Me: 4 thousand in medicine? That's too much. Use generic drug. They cost less.

Qing: (truly baffled) What is generic drug?

Me: Oh my...

Qing: Never mind medicine that cost less. Fine, let's settle for two thousand yuan in medicine. Plus doctor's fee and taxi fare, another thousand plus what you can earn if you work today, another thousand, if you are a common worker. So a total of five to six thousand yuan if you will get sick and miss work for three days. Six thousand yuan, that's too much!

Me: (blandly) Yeah, that's one pair of decent shoes for you.

Qing: (squinting on me) Are you mocking me? You are not taking me seriously, right?

Me: (without remorse) Yes. Because how can I take an unfeeling robot seriously. Really? You are calculating it.

Qing: (glaring at me) But that's the reality. You lose money when you get sick. So, drink your vitamins.

(Oh my...all of these just because Baba is asking you to drink your vitamins?)

Well...yes. Qing found out last night that I dismissed opening my vitamins bottle again.

Qing: Should I make true of my threat to you and tell our mothers that you neglect your vitamins again?

Me: (scandalized) Oi!

Qing: (glowering at me) Don't shout at me. Drink your medicine. And don't get sick again. The first month hasn't passed yet, Feng Jian Yu. Stop getting sick or this might be a natural occurance to you for this whole year.

I frowned at that. Then sighed.

Me: Fine. I will drink my vitamins.

Qing: And stop chewing candies. They are too sweet. Stop taking them for some shot of sugar rush. Drink more water and tea...
