Most days Mikasa always hung out with Eren and spent the day with him. But he currently was bedridden with a very bad fit of sickness. Mikasa worried about Eren constantly and would often ask her adoptive Mother, Carla, who was Eren's own mother, if he would be fine.
Carla would constantly reassure her with a bright smile that he would be fine. And eventually Carla decides to keep Mikasa busy with chores such as collecting firewood from the woods and such, especially since that would help keep Mikasa too occupied to be thinking about her worries.
And Mikasa did everything her mother had asked of her to get squared away with, and afterwards Carla told Mikasa to get out and have fun.
Mikasa really didn't know how to have fun by going out into the city, however. Everything she ever did that was considered fun was with Eren. Well, she could make some dolls of Eren in her room, but...Carla insisted on Mikasa to get out and spend a day outside. It's healthy and helps relax the mind, after all.
So Mikasa goes out and walks down the streets as she tries thinking up something fun to do. As she thinks and thinks, Armin pops into her head.
Armin was Eren's best friend he was always talking about. He one day even introduced Armin to Mikasa. And by now, the three always hangs out together. They're never seen without one or the other.
Armin was a young and sweet boy who dreamed of the world beyond the Walls alongside Eren. They made a promise to one day see the Ocean together. Mikasa always enjoyed watching the two, and seeing them get along. They were like brothers.
But Mikasa...never has she spent the day with just Armin. It was always just the three of them together. She wonders if perhaps it would be a good idea to meet up with Armin, or if it'd be better to just wait til Eren was feeling better.
But as Mikasa is walking down the street, the pathway towards her right, she heard a shout! Mikasa jumps as she recognizes the voice. She turns around towards the street where heard the cry, and saw Armin aways away being beaten and bullied by his bullies. They always picked on him for having an interest in the world Outside.
Without even saying a word, she charges over. Right when the bullies take notice of her, they run off scared shitless with their tails between their legs. When they saw Mikasa, they knew she was trouble, and Mikasa to the bullies, meant being given zero mercy.
"Armin, are you alright?" Mikasa kneels down towards Armin. He was laid down face front on the concrete tiled floor with his grandfather's book dropped on the ground carelessly. It looks as though Armin's bullies were stomping endlessly on his precious book. It was dear to him because not only did it belong to his grandfather, but it had a few things written inside with sketches of what the Outside World beyond the Walls could be like.
"I-I'm fine." Armin stutters out as his voice wavers as he struggles to force himself up, before wincing at the pain. His bullies always goes too far when it comes to giving Armin a beating.
