Armin fights back against the zombies using grenades and his rifle until the zombies surrounding him were all wiped out.
"Ahh, a nice change of pace." Remarks the woman as she returns with a smirk. "You... You tricked me. You lied to me. You lead me into zombie territory and gave me false hope! Your plan was for me to be killed here. Wasn't it?!!" Armin screams at the woman in anger as he points his rifle at her.
Without even giving the woman a moment to speak, Armin fires his rifle, and shoots the woman in the chest, killing her instantly. He breathes heavily while his hands and legs shake uncontrollably.
He didn't want to shoot... but her whole plan was to trick, manipulate and kill him from the start. If he didn't kill her... it would have been the other way around.
"Liar..." Armin mutters under his breath before tears began to form in his eyes and he quickly wipes them away.
"Armin!!" Armin can hear a voice call out his name. He turns his gaze around and can see Adel running towards him from a distance.
"A-Adel?!" Armin gasped in shock and surprise to see her here. "What the hell are you doing in zombie territory Armin?! Have you completely lost your mind, you suicidal blockhead?!" Adel punches Armin in the arm, frusterated.
"I... I was..." Armin words slur as he was uncertain as to how to explain how he wound up in this mess to start with. Adel's eyes scrolls from Armin to the woman lying dead upon the ground, a wound bleeding out her chest.
"What happened here?" Adel continued persisting.
"It's... it's a long story."
Evening has arrived. Armin left with Adel from zombie territory and made it to a much safer location. Armin helped gather firewood for camping out in a destroyed building in the closest city they reached.
By time the supplies were gathered, the sun had went down and a dark sky bathed over the earth. Hardly any stars glimmered, it was mostly pitch black out there.
"That's... that's crazy." Responds Adel, having listened to Armin's story of what happened. "Yeah... honestly, her words was so confusing... I truly cannot know for sure wether she was indeed lying... or if any of it was true." Armin admits.
"Hmm..." Adel gets lost in thought, as if trying to piece it together like Armin had been. "But... a cure... it doesn't exist. If a single sacrifice was needed to create a cure... someone would have done it by now." Armin mutters.
"Yeah... it's hard to say wether what she was actually telling you was true or folly." Adel comments.
"But... I do know one thing. She had no intention for me to create the cure. If that would been the case, she wouldn't have dragged me into zombie territory to set me up. She ran off when the zombies surrounded us. She was with them. I was foolish to had even trusted her to begin with... that night... I should have just shot her."
