Authors Note: I'm currently still working on the Aot zombie story, but this is a oneshot I decided to write. My sister has a journal of writing prompts and there was one about time traveling I decided to tackle. I will do a few of these featuring what different Aot characters would do if they could travel back in time. This one will feature Armin. Enjoy!

Imagine that you have a time machine and can go anywhere in the past or the future. What year will you visit and why? What will you do when you get there?

Armin's POV
Down in the underground, not only was this the place the Millitary was keeping Annie. But... away from the city, there was a time machine.
Y-Yes, there is indeed a city within the underground world. But... if you want to know more about that, you should ask Captain Levi. Because this is a different story.
Deep underground, the Millitary keeps a secret time machine. Hardly anyone knows about it's existence. But one day, I learnt about it when Hangi Zoe reveals it to me.
She dragged me underground, refusing to tell me what for. I was a little uptight and in a panic. She... erm, she seemed really ethuastic and excited at the time and wouldn't stop drooling, so... I was kinda terrified at the moment.
I was most nervous when she took me under deep stairways. But then when I was finally down in the place she wanted me, the fear left when I saw a strange invention standing in the center of the cramped room.
In the room, there was the invention. But there were also many bookshelves stacked with books, desk filled with piles of paper that were unorganized and scattered.
When approaching the invention, it was difficult to not crash your leg or butt against one of the hard tables. I recall hitting the side of my leg quite hard against the table and winced. "Quite crowded, don't you think?" I mentioned.
Hanji replied saying something like the room needed a makeover. At least she seemed aware of the mess. But she asked me what the invention was.
But how exactly was I supposed to know? It... it was unlike anything I'd ever seen. The technology looked so advanced, I was certain it came from Marley. But apparently, it wasn't from there.
"Nobody knows for certain what exactly this baby is, or what it can do... however... we shall know today!" Hangi cheered in excitement.
"Because your going to figure out what this is, and its purpose!" Hangi exclaimed. Upon being shouldered with such responsibility I became very insecure and unconfident.
"B-But... w-why me?!" I freaked out. "Because besides Erwin and I, your the smartest in the Scouts! So hop to it! I'll be back in three hours. Good luck, soldier!" Hangi smacks my back before leaving up the stairs.
I was quite astonished that Hangi trusted me enough to leave me with this invention. But I decided to at least try to uncover the possibilities of what the invention was since I'd be here long anyway.
I observed it and it appeared to be some kind of machine. A machine that... operates? No longer how long I was cooped up in that room, studying the invention, I was hardly able to figure out anything to do with it. All I knew was that it was some sort of operative machine... but it's purpose and what exactly it does... I couldn't quite figure out. At least, at the time.
Much time had gone by, and eventually it was discovered to be a time machine and more. I was sixteen years old when Hangi brought me down here. But when I made my return, I did so alone. I had turned nineteen years old.
The time machine... could it actually work? Could it truly turn back the clock? Can it undo disasters of events already taken place?
It was folly. Surely. But... it turned out truly having that power. Well... not exactly. I thought it did
though. So I entered the time machine and turned back the clock. I turn time back to many different times and events. I turned it back on the day Eren declared his true feelings towards Mikasa and I. I turned the clock on the day Eren left us for good. I turned the clock back during very many different occasions, including on the night Eren attacked Marley and the night Sasha was shot.
I thought I could play God and change the damage that has been done. I thought I could turn back the hands of time so maybe, things could turn out differently. So that Paradise and Marley both could have a future without killing each other.
But this time machine... it is very much different than the ones in the works of fiction. We can't change what has been done. The time machine simply allows us to look back on what has been done in the past. It never allows us to change what has already come to be.
So many times... I wish there was some way to change everything that's happened. If only... it could all have been prevented. Oh Eren... why must things have to turn out this way? We could... we could have ended things more peacefully. I was.... sure of it.
