I opened up my eyes to find myself in an unfamiliar and cramped room. It was dark and I was freezing cold. I shivered. It was so cold, and I was so scared. Where was I? I want out of here.
"Hey..." I heard a voice cooed out of the shadows. I jolt fearfully, but in panic the voice says..."P-Please don't be scared! I-I'm not here to hurt you."
"B-Bertolt...?" I call out, finally recognizing to whom the voice belonged to. Indeed, it was Bertolt. I wasn't certain how I should feel at the moment. All I knew was that I should be feeling fear, and that I should be cautious of him. He is the enemy, after all.
Bertolt approaches my figure, curled up by the corner of the wall. He bends down on his knees so we are both at the same level. His expression seemed to hold that of sadness.
"Look...I'm sorry but we had to take you with us back home. And... everyone was planning to interrogate you while you'd be.....tortured." Bertolt explains the situation at hand.
"Y-You mean...I'm going to be tortured...?" Immediately after I stuttered out this question, Bertolt immediately reassures me.
"No, don't worry. There's a way to avoid this."
"There...is?" I raise an eyebrow. Was he teasing me or was he actually being serious?
"Yes, there is-- I'm not joking! If you decide to answer all of my questions without difficulty, the others won't have to torture you."
"I... won't be tortured?"
"You won't, you have my word." Bertolt's gaze had a look of seriousness in it. I could tell at that moment, that he wasn't lying. And that he was being honest.
"What kind of questions?"
"Hm...well, Reiner informed me of the questions he was later going to ask you. He told me sterly however, that upon meeting you here to not tell you, but...to make things less scary how about I just question you here right here and now? I promise to not hurt you." Bertolt offers me a deal.
He could easily be lying to me, so he and Reiner could get more information out of me as possible. He might even be lying about the part where he says not to hurt me or let others torture me. But his eyes didn't look to be lying, so...
"Ok." I agreed in letting Bertolt question me. But it depends on what the question is, whether I will answer truthfully. "Are there any other shifters besides Eren living inside the walls?" Bertolt inquires. "Well...aside from Eren and Annie, I don't think theres any others." I answered this question honestly.
"Okay...well, where is the secret behind the Titans Eren is hiding?"
Bertolt must be meaning Eren's basement. Me and Eren are close, so he's told me about how he has a key to his basement back in Shiganshina. He also added how deep inside his basement, apparently, his father had hidden the secret behind the Titans. I mustn't tell Bertolt this.
