It was another day in the town of Shiganshina. All was peaceful, all was how it should be. Eren and Armin, two best friends, were heading up a tall, steep hill. In search of apples; for they wanted their dear raven haired girl to bake them some delicious apple pie.
"E-Eren... can we stop for a moment? P-Please? I need to catch my breath here." Armin heaves before stopping and holding down on his knees trying his best to catch his breath as quickly as possible.
"What? Your already exhausted? Sheesh, Armin you exert yourself too easily!" Complains Eren as he stops in his tracks for his ol' bud.
"S-Sorry..." Armin breathed out an apology. After a few more moments, he stood back up properly. "You good?" Asked Eren. "Uh-huh." Nods Armin, giving Eren the okay to keep moving forward.
It wasn't much longer till the two boys eventually made it to the very top of the hill, and there it was; was apple tree the two dreamed to demolish.
Yes, demolish. Demolish so they can steal all the yummy scrumptious apples all for themselves! Oh, and for Mikasa too.
"Armin, I always do the dirty work. Now it's your turn." Eren says before tossing and axe over towards Armin direction as he lets out a high pitched screech.
"E-EREEEEEN!! You don't throw axes!!! What in the world is WRONG with you!?!?!!" Screams Armin, his eyes widen in fear from the very idea of what could have happened if he didn't catch the axe without losing a few fingers... or worst, a limb.
"I don't see what the problem is. You caught it, didn't you?" Says Eren without trying to think for a moment, what he nearly did.
"Eren, my gosh..." Armin says, nearly feeling the urge to face palm himself. "Well, do it Armin. Chop down the tree." Eren persist.
"B-But... Eren... um, why don't you do it...?" Armin ask quietly. "Armin, as I said... I'm always stuck doing the dirty work! So you do it!"
"B-But... calling this dirty work... you almost make it sound like we are about to commit a crime." Says Armin, quite uneasily.
"Well... this is kinda a crime. I mean, apple trees only grow outside the borders of Shiganshina every three years. And this is the very last one. So... we need to hurry up before someone stops us all to hog the apples for themselves." Eren reminds Armin.
"B-But... why must I be the one to do it? W-Why me...?"
"Because you always keep a level head and know exactly what to do when we run into a crisis. I believe in you Armin... so... do it." Smiles Eren while giving his best bud a thumbs up.
"D-Do... do you really have so much faith in me...?" Armin questions in disbelief. "Of course I do, Ar! I wouldn't have said what I just said if I thought otherwise. So go for it!" Eren grins.
"W-Well... okay, I'll try." Armin nervously shoots a smile back before taking a firm and tight grip of the axe in his hands and raising it before the tree.
