Author's note: Honestly I feel like this is more of a poem than an actual story, especially because of how short it was. I was inspired to write this because the song "stand by you" is a song that reminds of my original character Kiyomi who I have put in a lot of my stories. When I listen to the song, it reminds me that with Armin by Kiyomi's side, she feels like she can do anything, even walk out into the Hellish outside world where Titans lurk. Enjoy! :)
The world beyond the walls was Hell. Kiyomi knew this, and she feared that world. But Armin's stories of what may exist beyond the birdcage they've lived their whole lives within brought light to that world. Kiyomi wished to believe that everything Armin ever told her about the outside was true. That lands filled of ice, mountains of sand, damp rainforest, and even Oceans of water that stretches out beyond the horizon actually exist. She wanted to believe so. Very much.
So whenever fear of going outside would haunt her the day before an expedition would break, she would think of all the amazing places Armin described to her could be like. And whenever that wasn't enough to ease her fear, just being by Armin's side when on the bloody battle field, put her heart as ease. With Armin besides her, she felt safe and secured. She felt at home. So being by him always calmed her nerves and brought her to believe that in the end, everything would turn out alright, that they both would get out of this alive as long as they have each other.
The world beyond the walls was Hell...but even so, Kiyomi continued to stand by Armin's side through it all. She refused to leave him. She refused to have Armin fight this never ending battle alone. Armin would stand by her, and she would stand by him. They will fight this battle together. And as long as Armin's in her life, she refuses to give up.
