Everyone retreated to the top of the wall. I don't know how many hours have passed, but I remained by Armin side. I removed my Scout jacket and I placed it on Armin before he was laid down to rest. Ever since then, I've stayed by his side, never leaving for even a second. I stayed here with him. I was like a chick glued to its mother. But I had teeth like a crocodile. If anyone tries to separate me from him, I won't hesitate to reveal the fangs.

So I stayed here by him, never leaving. There were a few times my head would nod off, but whenever that would happen, I would jerk my head back up and I would force myself to stay awake. I was so tired. I had fought for my life against a herd of Titans, I was kidnapped by the enemy and taken to their land, I nearly lost the one person who means most to me....all of this was taking a terrible toll on my body and mind.

But I refused to sleep. I mean, I guess I can sleep. But I don't to. I mean, while it seems like it can be easy to fall into sleep, but after everything that happened, I doubt I can at least sleep as peacefully as Armin was at the moment. Plus, I wanted to continue keeping watch on him. Especially since I want to be there when he first wakes up.

Hours felt longer than hours, but I didn't mind it. Usually doing nothing is just boredom-torture to me. But for once, I didn't mind it at all. I was fine with just sitting here with Armin. Armin being alive, and being by his side was enough for me right now.

Eventually Armin's eyes slowly fluttered open. But I didn't notice because my head was hanging down. I often would glance and watch Armin's sleeping figure, but then I would focus on the ground and I would eventually start fighting the sleep trying to overcome me. Even if sleep knocks on the door, I won't open it.

It was when Armin began to sit himself up, I jerked my head up to see his ocean blue eyes staring into my own. "Kiyomi...? Are you alright? You look awful!" He tells me truthfully. But immediately upon hearing his voice once more, a smile curls itself up across my face, confusing Armin.

"I...I'm glad your alive. I'm glad your okay. Please never do something like that again." I tell him before embracing him. Armin seems surprised by my sudden action, but eventually returns the embrace. I couldn't help but to cry, knowing now that he is no longer sleeping, that he really is alive. He isn't dead. He almost died, but he's here. And that's all that matters to me from this point on.

"Kiyomi..." Armin whispered. He wanted to ask why I was crying, but decided it to be better to just comfort me, so he rubbed my head with one hand, as I rested my head into the crook of his neck. The others comes over, happy and relieved to see Armin awake. Levi thus comes over and everyone explains everything to Armin. I refused to remove myself from clinging to Armin until he needed his space when he caught himself from nearly vomiting. It was hard for him to take in that he ate Bertolt and that he now had the power of the Collosal Titan.

"But don't ever think for a second that you'll replace Erwin." Says Levi. Armin nods, understanding clearly. And once Armin seemed to calm down and felt better, once again, I clung myself to him. By now he was blushing deep red, but I didn't care. All I wanted was to be with him.

"Geez, you both. Get a room." Jean rolls his eyes.

Time has passed since that day. I have somewhat recovered since the events. I feel well rested. But there are some nights I still have nightmares of the day I nearly lost Armin to the war raging inside our home district. But whenever that happens, just like Armin always did in the good ol' days, he would rush to my room and comfort me from my hellish dream.

"So...it's really real? You've been there?" Armin asked. We, the scouts, rode on horseback outside the walls. We had our maneuvering equipment on, and our weapons ready, but ever since Hanji made a new invention that chops the heads clean off of Titans stepping towards the wall, they all have been wiped off of our homeland. For now, at least. But we came prepared just in case there happened to still be any Titans.

"Yes! I managed to escape from Marley, but in order to I had to take a small boat. The ocean is just like you told me from your grandfather's book! The ocean is vast, and big. It's...it's amazing! I can't wait til you see it!" I beamed.

"Yeah..." Armin smiled and blushed. I looked over to Eren who was leading us from ahead. I was expecting for Eren to sarcastically say something like, "How dare you beat us to it! We
PROMISED to see the sea together! But you got yourself kidnapped and saw it first! And WITHOUT us!" But sadly he said nothing. Eren hasn't seemed himself lately. Ever since he's been receiving his father's memories, he's seemed to have gotten depressed. He hasn't been himself. He's more quiet.

"We made it." Says Eren as we reached the edge of a cliff and paused our horses in their tracks. Ahead, offered a gigantic view of the ocean! It was breathtaking and beautiful. I looked at the ocean and back to Armin to see him staring into it as well.

We eventually made it down and tied our horses by the trees. After, we rushed over to discover sand and salt by the shore. Just as Armin had informed, just as his book of the outside world said, the ocean is covered with so much salt, merchants could spend their whole lives collecting it only to never run out!

Armin stood in the water and small currents of waves splashed about against his ankles. In the palm of Armin's hands, he held a beautiful seashell. Both me and Mikasa, stomping a mess in the water while giggling, approached Armin from behind.

Armin glances over towards us and then gave a priceless and most beautiful smile as he shined in the ray of the sun. We returned smiles, just as happy to finally see the Ocean as he was.

"Eren! Eren, look at this." Armin wished to show Eren what he had found. But Eren interrupts while staring at the sea's horizon,

"Beyond the ocean is freedom. That's what I've always believed. But I was wrong. Beyond the ocean isn't freedom. Waiting for us beyond the sea is the enemy." Eren turned his attention back to us, looking deeply upset.

Geez, Eren. What a way to ruin a special moment. But Eren basically is correct. Beyond the sea is the enemy. We will have to prepare for another war that should come soon, even if we don't wish it.

All we want is peace. Why can't they understand that? Perhaps if we talk things out...if they're willing to listens...maybe then, we will finally be free.

The End
